  1. I've only seen the Unfinished Dance twice. Both times were so long ago. Way before cable television, lol. It was on a local channel in my hometown that showed old movies late at night and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. For someone who hasn't seen it, if I remember correctly, O'Brien was a ballerina (in training) who has a dance idol that she wants to be the head ballerina. She does something really tragic to ensure her idol gets the top spot.
  2. Thank you so much. She was absolutely gorgeous.
  3. I guess thats what makes them both great actors. They put aside their differences and put the portrayal of the characters first and foremost. I think I heard somewhere that he wanted Vivien Leigh to play the lead in Wuthering Heights. I think that is the movie. She didn't get the role but went on to do Gone With the Wind and of course made history.
  4. Thanks Jarhfive! Did that show on TCM? Am I understanding you correctly? I'm not sure I've seen that one. I'll be sure to check for it.
  5. This is my favorite classic movie. I love this movie.
  6. Shirley Temple and Margaret O'brien. The Unfinished Dance made me a Margaret O'brien fan for life.
  7. Imitation of Life. Gets me everytime.
  8. Was Dead Ringer the movie with Karl Malden? She killed her twin and took her identity? That movie was great. I just recently saw Mrs. Skeffington, that was great as well. She did a movie called the Nanny I believe it was in the 60s. That was a good movie. I don't know if I ever had a favorite. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is up there. I saw a good movie where she was married to a guy that was doing something undercover during the war. I can't remember the name of the movie but it was fascinating.
