  1. I'm inclined to doubt it Britt Ekland was a blonde, married to Peter Sellers. She doesn't look anything like the woman in the photo. A clue to my photo. is "That 70's Girl in The 60's" How I labeled the pic. British actress, very distinctive accent. I thought about giving one other major hint, but it gives her away.
  2. I was talking about the earlier photo being Daliah Lavi. Now try this one on for size.
  3. Are you sure? Because it looks exactly like Daliah Lavi in the 1967 CASINO ROYALE Also TEN LITTLE INDIANS (1965) which TCM just ran last month. She has a very distinctive look about her. She has a very distinctive look about her.
  4. This photo of Marilyn definitely seems to be from the 50's. Even the very early 50's. So it really doesn't count in the thread.
  5. A small house band or Tango Orchestra is great. I'd like to see TCM present at least a few Silents with an authentic movie Tango Orchestra score. I don't much care for Silents being shown with an over-abundance of sound effects an occasional effect here or there is OK.
  6. THE PENALTY has been on TCM before. Probably last run in 2006. But this will be the new restoration with the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra score. So it is a premiere of the new version Chuck Tabesh confirmed to me next week. More Chaney THE BLACKBIRD hin April has not aired since October of 2008, and it is every bit as good as THE PENALTY if not better. Great cast, and superb Robert Israel score. Good to see it finally back on the schedule. Though it could have been slated in a better time-slot.
  7. Twinkee, No, it's not Mabel Normand. Fred, Gloria Swanson was actually Chaplin's leading lady in his first Essanay Two-reeler in 1915 HIS NEW JOB. I haven't seen that short for so long I do not recall what she looked like. I'll need to look it up. TCM aired TEDDY AT THE THROTTLE (1917) back in September during Mack Sennett month. Featuring both Gloria and Wally. I wonder if Beery was ever really young? The guy seems to have born 40 years old!
  8. I can't take credit. A woman on GAOH knew who they were immediately. Try this here photo. Tragic Silent Star who died young. *"Peach Melba Princess"*
  9. Wait a minute, it's Wallace Beery minus Stache, and a very young Gloria Swanson from when they first got married. Circle 1917? Wally sure looks different. Not that Gloria doesn't.
  10. Fred, Is the woman Musidora? She looks familiar, but I can't place her. The man I have no idea as of yet. Are they Hollywood or foreign Stars?
  11. Blast! That was much to fast. Yes it is Francis in both shots. Now how about this one here? *"High Flying Beauty"*
  12. Finally found some photos without the URL stating the name. Very lovely tragic 30's-early 40's actress. Rarely seen on TCM it seems.
  13. I watched BEAU IDEAL. It was pretty horrendous as a sequel to a Masterpiece like the 1926 BEAU GESTE. Didn't understand how this sequel was made at RKO, when the original Silent and lost Silent sequel in 1928 were both made at Paramount? Loretta Young playing the part of Isobel that was previously portrayed by Mary Brian. With Ralph Forbes reprising his role as John Geste. The lone returning member from the 1926 production.
  14. THE BIG PARADE will be the new restoration that will finally be coming to DVD and Blu-ray later this year. Any word on if IT will be a new restoration? Hoping there is a chance they might screen the new UCLA restoratrion of BEAU GESTE (1926) in 35 millimeter. Very disappointed in the lack luster build up for THE BIG PARADE so far. This screening needs to be promoted. Nothing has been mentioned about it on TV so far of any kind by name.
  15. This one is easy. I'll keep quiet unless no one else gets it.
