These photo's of Corinne Griffith illustrate pretty well why I still have her in the Top spot. Just so remarkably photogenic.

Here is another of Eleanor Boardman apparently from the early 1920's? Yes, the same Woman from King Vidor's THE CROWD, who became the second Mrs. Vidor. And you haven't seen TELL IT TO THE MARINES yet either? I think you saw SOULS FOR SALE, but not WINE OF YOUTH? Correct?
Incidentally, I am trying to get information from David Shepard on how far along they are in the restoration of BARDLEYS THE MAGNIFICENT with Gilbert, and Eleanor. I will keep you posted. The movie was supposed to be screened sometime this Fall in France? So I wonder if it is ready to go yet?

I do not like Colorized movies in the least. However, I would not be against studios restoring films that were made in Two-color Technicolor by computer where the footage now only survives in Black and White. I believe the 2-color Technicolor effect can be replicated very effectively, and accurately.
In addition, let's remember that most Silent films were often originally multi-tinted and some were even tinted. and toned, and yes even contained Technicolor footage. While others the entire film was shot in 2-Strip, and later 2-Color Technicolor. Many musicals from the late 20's and early 30's also had Two-Color Technicolor footage that is now lost. If they could restore these to a close approximation of the original effect, I see no reason that it should not be done?

Actually, this photo of Marion has some major flaws, and I may do this one over again from scratch. I still have the original Black and White.
The color bleeds off to the side a couple places, and I do not like that part it at all. But I did this one probably a good six months ago or so. Sometimes it is very difficult to keep the color uniform, and where is all supposed to be. It tends to wander off on you a bit.

Say, I haven't heard from you, except on this forum for several days. By the way, I need to know the Color of Garbo's Eyes? I assume they were Brown, but I honestly do not know? I may have read it somewhere a long time ago? If so, I have since forgotten the details? I think I have some painted magazine coveres in here someplace though?
Eye color is also a problem with Delores Costello. Three photo's and in each one, Her Eyes turned out very differently.

Well, She might have fallen out of my Top 10 list, but I know a good number of folks who consider this Lady the Number 1 most beautiful Star of the Silent Era. It's the always delightful Marion Davies in this wonderful portrait from 1927.

Thanks. I try to keep within the boundaries of the appearence of Two-Strip, or Two-Color Technicolor. Although sometimes these photo's stray a little. I still am looking for some really good Photo's of Dorothy Janis, Camillia Horn, Marceline Day, Mary Duncan, and others.
Here is the lady who I had Number 10 on my list. Vilma Banky. I don't have very many photo's of her. I think I have posted this one here before, but I can't seem to find the thread for some reason?

Here is a glimpse of the Number 4 lady on my list of Top 10 Silent Silent Screen Lovelies. The Stunning Jacqueline Logan. An exquisite big-eyed beauty. Most of Her films are lost, and she is probably best know today for her role as Mary Magdalene, in Cecil B. De Mille's THE KING OF KINGS (1927).

Actually, My Top 10 list of Silent Screen Beauties from several months ago included these ladies. Unfortunately, I don't have good photo's of all the Gals mentioned here to work with or post. Here is a recap of the 10 names that I chose. The order has been shuffled slightly, but retains the same names as it had before. Some people agreed with the list while others did not. Again these are just the actresses that I considered to be the most beautiful, not necessarily the ones that I like the best.
A glaring omission from the group is the name of Mary Duncan! After seeing what remains of Frank Borzage's THE RIVER (1928), I might even be tempted to rate her in the Top 3 or 4? Maybe even Number 1! But Duncan did not look quite the same in F. W. Murna's CITY GIRL, had to check and make sure it was the same lady???

So were Mary Pickford, Clara Bow, Bessie Love, and numerous others. Renee Adoree was perhaps not quite as dainty, but She is still one of my very favorites. Ditto for Eleanor Boardman, Phyllis Haver, Bebe Daniels and so on!
I had tinkered with this list several times before submitting anything. I figured that the final result may raise a few eyebrows? I actually had Marion Davies listed in the top 7 or so at one point. Unfortunately, I had to drop Laura La Plante, and Jobyna Ralston from the Top 10 as well.
Here is a short list of the other Actresses that I was considering. Among those not previously noted, Honorable Mention went to the following:

Wow! A whole lot of really good looking ladies to be sure! Maybe I need to pick a Top 25 instead of a Top 10? And it still isn't very easy to decide.

Yes, I choose my own colors, but the color is not predetermined in any way. It just happens. I never know what colors I will end up with until completed. Even then, I may still go back months later and make some subtle changes here and there.

Wow! Amazingly enough, I found a much higher resolution graphic of the same still-photo! A little larger, and less cropped than the other one had been. Now let's see how this one looks posted here?

Had to colorize this same photo twice in one evening. It is a slightly different hue here and there, but might be an improvement? Although I like the shade of Gilbert's suit better in the first one.

I just finished colorizing this still of Gilbert and Garbo a little earlier this evening. Kind of a low resolution image though of Diana, and Neville, from Clarence Brown's A WOMAN OF AFFAIRS. Otherwise it would look great. Didn't you have a larger and better quality graphic of a similar image to this one? I thought that you had posted a still something like this awhile back?
