ugarrate,
Are you able to access the other forum? This is new. A still I had planned on working with for many months. Finally did so.

*John Barrymore And Dolores Costello in WHEN A MAN LOVES (1927)*
-
Wendy,
I'm sorry. Firefox just does not give you the complete direct link. Go to my page on TCM CFU, than click on my videos to find the clip. It's easily found.
-
Wendy,
Yes, Fox completely re-vamped Madge Bellamy's image about 1925. Turning her into a flighty, flirty Flapper type. Rather than the Mary Pickford wanta be she had been for years. I'm much more use to the original Madge too. Haven't seen any of the Fox features of the Mid-20's. Though several survive.
Take a gander at this Newsreel footage featuring Fox actresses from about the 1926-27movie season.

Wendy,
Those Glass-Slides, as well as the Lobby-cards for that matter, usually came in a group of 6 or 8, and so not all of them had the Stars names on them. Just depended on what card or slide that it was.
-
Rickey,
*Mary Pickford* wouldn't have done the film because she owned her own company and a chunk of *United Artists.* *Colleen Moore* was under contract to *First National.* However, she did make Frank Borzage's *THE NTH COMMANDMENT* at Paramount the year before in 1923. Which was heavily lauded by critics.

-
Two rare painted Lobby's for First National's *THE AMERICAN BEAUTY (1927)* Starring Billie Dove and Ben Lyon. This may, or may not be a lost film.

-
Rickey,
Actually, Colleen Moore probably came closer to getting the role of PETER PAN than Mary Pickford did. According to Moore biographer Jeff Codori, many fans were upset when Colleen did not get the part. Believing that she was the perfect choice.
In the end, it is hard to imagine anyone being a better selection than Betty Bronson. Personally selected by author James W. Barrie himself. It's not clear as to who Herbert Brenon's first choice would have been. Among others, Betty Compson was also tested for the part, but did not appear youthful enough on camera. At one point even Lillian Gish was considered, though Dorothy Gish seems more likely.

Little Mary, playing a Little Boy, Teas off on the Bully! One of her best feature films.

*Mary Pickford-"Little Lord Fauntleroy" (1921)*

Famous Silent Film Starring Constance Bennett, Sally O'Neil and Joan Crawford.

*SALLY, IRENE AND MARY (1925)*

ugarrate,
Glad you like the little Doggie. I posted a whole bunch of new stuff in the other thread last night Here is another rare Lobby-card:

-

*Warner Baxter, Gilda Gray-"ALIMONY" (1924)*

*Madge Bellamy-"ANKLES PREFERRED" (1926)*

Wendy,
Here is something of Tom Moore you may not have seen before. Leading lady is Bessie Love.

*ANYBODY HERE SEEN KELLY? (1928)*
-

*Betty Compson-"Flapper At Thought"*

*Clara Bow-"Place My Bet"*
-
ugaarate,
Yes, it is *Norma Shearer with the* *Blue Shoes* *being fitted* on her in the lost *EMPTY HANDS.* Supposedly *Gertrude Olmstead*, *is the kneeling servant girl doing the fitting,* but it does not look like Olmstead at all to me, who was really quite a pretty lady. I have never seen her look so dowdy before. Above that, I just do not generally recognize her face. *I have a couple other stills from this movie featuring Norma with Jack Holt. I'll try to get to those sometime soon.*
The *Lon Chaney* pic was absconded from the Bob Fells old Hollywood in Color site, but I made some subtle changes. However, I still see a few spots of bleeding colors that I am not happy with. The HL with Una Merkel was entirely done by Bob. It's great work. I think Mitch Farrish had found the rare Gilbert/Crawford photo and posted it in Monochrome on TCM CFU.
I was not happy with the Mabel Normand photo, as the walls are to green. It was impossible to change this after I had already put "The Giant" logo in place. This was part of a bunch of Tom Moore related stills that Wendy uploaded some months ago.
Were you ever able to access the *Silent Crushes* thread? I haven't been using it lately as you mentioned that it was not loading?
Hope you have a nice *Halloween* Weekend.

The Warner and the Image Entertainment releases of *CITY LIGHTS* are both out of print, and that is why they are going for so much money. The Image DVD released in 1998 or '99 has been out of print for more than 7 years.
*THE KID* is a much better movie in it's entirety. I paid 50 bucks in 2004 for an Out of Print copy of the Image DVD release of *THE KID/A DOGS LIFE.* Featuring the David Shepard restorations of both films, and presented at the proper speed, with re-instated scenes.
Be sure to pick up the New-Line Lloyd Box set if you can still get it while there is time. Who can say when the Lloyd Trust will Ink another media deal.
Yes, by all means, buy *UNKNOWN CHAPLIN* while it is still available. One of the greatest documentaries Brownlow and Gill ever produced.

[~EugeniaH],
*CITY LIGHTS* figures to be the next Chaplin film that Criterion will release. And it will be an all new transfer from Janis films, with none of the Pal to NTSC Ghosting that ruined the previous release. It may also have both the original 1931 track and the revised arrangement of Chaplin's score Orchestrated by Carl Davis in 1988. The Image Laser-disc, and later DVD release from 2000, had both scores. However, the Warner DVD only contained the original scoring track. I'm rather surprised that this wasn't ready before Christmas. They released *MODERN TIMES* just prior to the Holidays last year.

ugaarate,
Hey, you were able to post photos in this forum? Has the function finally been fixed?
This is one of my favorite stills of Barbara Kent.

*"Freshly Hatched Starlet!"*

ugaarate,
I will be uploading a few sequences from Keaton's *SHERLOCK JUNIOR* on the TCM CFU site with the Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks score. Originally recorded in 1995. This version has never been released on DVD or Blu-ray.
Also portions of the 1967 Audio-Brandon Re-issue score to *GO WEST,* which is really Jazzy and allot of fun. Released on the Image Laser-disc in 1993. You won't hear these scores of those films on TCM or anywhere else. I have been trying to get the clips up for several days. Unfortunately, something has been wrong with my encoder program from MPEG 2 to AVI format. So frustrating.

ugaarate, Wendy, Etc,
No, as far as I know Criterion will release *LONESOME.* I just don't know when. They just licensed the film last fall from Universal after it was inducted into the National Film Registry. To put things in perspective, Criterion licensed the release of Von Strohiem's *THE WEDDING MARCH* from Paramount in 2007, and it is still not on DVD yet.

ugaarate,
*LITTLE LORD FAUTLEROY* is not colorized. It is an original painting. All of them are. Here are a couple color cards for *THE MARRIAGE CIRCLE (1924)*.
