I have the official DVD release of Scrooge (1970) in Wide-screen. I have had it for several years. The picture is considerably smaller than it is on TCM. I don't know why? Black bars are notably wider on top and bottom of the image. That's why I recorded it again from TCM.

Ed, *MOVIES UNLIMITED* is not TCM. It also is not the same as Warner Archive, but they do sell WA discs.

You will like this photo. Originally I thought that was a Toy Rain Deer under there! And these glasses are only about a year old. *Christmas1963 Aluminum Tree and small Golden Brown Dog on Pillow*

Ham, My Grandmother on my Mothers side of the family had one when I was a kid in the 70's. She probably first bought it back in the late 50's to early 60's. Every year we put it up. Until about 1981 or so. There was a spinning carousel that cast six different shades of color upon it. Very pretty. Grandma had awesome vintage ornaments that dated back of the 1910's and 20's. Ah, memories. Great photo! It's to bad these are so forgotten today.

I thought once the problem was taking care of they would put the films back up for sale again? I'm wondering if this is what happened with THE VIKING, which was apparently briefly available than pulled from release??? In this case, that title hasn't returned either. Confusing.
-
njpaddy, I'm searching for the thread on Nitrateville that will tell you all about it. Almost like trying to find a needle in a Haystack. But I know it's there. Can't be more than a couple months old if that
-
njpaddy, Here is what happened. Both *THE PRISONER OF ZENDA (1922)* and *THE MAGICIAN (1926)* were released by Warner Archive at the same time, but they were temporarily pulled due to processing errors. John Barrymore's *BEAU BRUMMEL (1924)* earlier apparently had the same issue. Don't know if that was fixed or not? I assumed that these two titles would be offered again once the problem was resolved.Maybe they have been slow getting to that. It has been a few months already. Have you tried to contact them about this?

*LONELY WIVES* is a huge surprise. Don't know if it's ever been on TCM before or not? Patsy Ruth Miller, Esther Ralston, and Laura La Plante all in the same movie. Plus Edward Everett Horten as a Romeo! Can it be? Even bigger news, finally the return of *NOAH'S ARK* after many years!
-
Please TCM no follow up series focusing on the 70's 80, 90's and especially 2000's. Gulp! We have enough of that on the other TV channels.
-
Whoops, I'm sorry. I thought this was about what was not released on DVD this year, not about what TCM hasn't run? Michael Curtiz *NOAH's ARK (1928)* with Dolores Costello and George O' Brien. This movie is Not on DVD or DVD-R through Warner Archive, and hasn't been on TCM either in the better part of a decade. *BEAU GESTE (1926).* The watered down William Wellman 1939 sound remake with Gary Cooper has been released twice now on DVD. While the original and far superior Silent version Starring Ronald Colman and featuring William Powell, is still nowhere to be found on official home video. Probably never will be. TCM might be are only chance to see this in a restored version, and even that is not very likely anytime soon. I'll also put in a plug for *WINGS.* It remains to be seen rather TCM was able to get a much improved transfer and broadcast master from Paramount/Viacom for the February schedule or not? Let's hope so, but I sure wouldn't count on it. The Kevin Brownlow restored Photoplay Productions edition seems to be completely off limits in America. Paramount simply will not allow it to be shown.Unless there has been a breakthrough?
-
I have to say that this is the most unexpected premier in years! Can't wait. to see the restored version. I'm gratified that TCM is also running *STREET ANGEL* in February. But where on earth is *SEVENTH HEAVEN???* Especially considering that it was just released on Blu-ray in France last month. Wouldn't mind seeing *LUCKY STAR* either.

Here's the thing, I would have thought two of the first people to be featured among the Moguls would have to be Nicholas and Joseph Schenck. Nick was barely mentioned at all in passing, and I'm not so sure that Joe's name even appears once in the entire series? Hey, those guys were arguably the biggest Moguls there were for quite awhile. To leave them out is beyond absurd! No mention of First National and John McCormick either, since that would have definitely merited a word about Colleen Moore. And on that score Norma Shearer isn't even brought up in the Irving Thalberg segments! Just unbelievable.
-
OK, here is what I want for Christmas next year. A documentary about *Colleen Moore*, followed by a night of her restored films. A decade overdue. From what I understand, Hugh Hefner had thought about doing a documentary on Colleen around the same time that he produced ones for TCM on Louise Brooks ('98), Clara Bow ('99), Marion Davies (2000), and Olive Thomas (2003). Unfortunately, that never happened. I'd also like to see a documentary on the Talmadge Sistes. Or maybe a 5 part series dedicated to Stars who got completely glossed over in *MOGULS AND MOVIE STARS.* But I still think that Colleen's deserves her own production. I'd also like to see the 2006 *Pola Negri* doc debut on TCM in the coming year.

Ed, Here is one of the Betty Bronson's. Gee, is she cute. Rich just put it up on his site in the past few days. I'm sure there must be a few others like it someplace. This set sure got allot of use. *"Pajamas On The Housetop"*

Ed, Yet another Holiday pic from the same 1926 Photoplay Magazine session, How many of these are there that I still haven't seen yet? That bear looks incredibly soft doesn't it? I'm still looking for the one with Clara Clause peeping through the window. I've only seen the photo in a Slide-show. Other Paramount Stars were used on the same set. I have found photos of Swanson, Betty Bronson, Arletter Marchal, and others. There should be some Esther Ralston. I haven't run across one though. *Nancy Carroll-"A Plush Teddy Christmas"*
