Wendy, Corinne with Pooch? Haven't seen that one before. Thanks. Is there an un-cropped version? I'll work on the photo. That Odin was a lucky Ol' God huh? Nita looks pretty amazing there. Don't mess with her she just might transform you into a troll! Yipes! Ha, ha, ha! *Nita Naldi in THE MARRIAGE WHIRL*

Karin, Speaking of VIKINGS you will like this photo! *Nita Naldi -"Frigga Queen of Asgard"*

A reminder, You want rare (?), well you got it! Rex Ingram's *MARE NOSTRUM (1926)* with Alice Terry and Antonio Moreno is on TCM tonight. It has been about 7 or 8 years since they last aired this film. So a very rare big budget MGM Silent, that is seldom seen, and not yet available on DVD either. What's more for about 25 years it had been considered a lost film. If you miss this broadcast you might never see it again. Unless Warner Archive puts it out soon on DVD-R? I would say that's fairly doubtful. I must confess that while I have this movie from TCM going back to about 2002 0r 2003, I have never watched it in it's entirety. So I'm looking forward to getting a good recording and seeing the film clear through for the first time. I transferred my copy of *MARE NOSTRUM* from Super VHS-ET to DVD-R several years ago. Unfortunately, it no longer plays back. So I'm really happy that TCM is running the film again at long last and I can get a crisp new recording on Silent Sunday Nights! My thanks to Chuck Tabesh for dragging this movie out of some considerable mothballs *Alice"Irish" Terry* *"Alice Terry in Great Big "Ole Hat"*

Karin, If you can, please purchase a couple copies of Rodney's annual Silent movie calendar. Proceeds are used to help fund pending restoration projects. So it is a worthy cause. Here is the link to the Mont Alto web-site. http://www.mont-alto.com/Calendar.html Did you see this video of Christmas in the 20's? http://fan.tcm.com/_Christmas-In-The-Roaring-Twenties/video/1461945/66470.html

I want the 1971 Chuck Jones Cartoon version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, with Alistair Sim reprising the voice of Scrooge some 20 years later. This version has completely disappeared. So has the 1969 Cartoon version that ran on CBS during afternoons between Thanksgiving and Christmas throughout the 70's. These are the best animated versions by far, and neither is around and largely haven't been for at least 25 years.

Karin, We need to purchase as much of these type of collections as possible in order to ensure that there will be follow up sets. I bought the collection when it first came out five months ago. I had seen all of the films already several times, but it was nice to have crisp new transfers. My only compliant is that the could have included *CHILDREN OF DIVORCE* which I have never seen. Some people were not happy because the Gaylord Carter scores were not kept as alternate tracks. I sent you an E-mail about 4 days or so before Thanksgiving did you receive it? Did you get to see *POOR LITTLE RICH GIRL* and *THE HOODLUM* when they were on TCM earlier this month? Not to mention *THE VIKING.*
-
Karin, Did you buy the Von Sternberg collection? Which was your favorite among the three films? Here is another *Mary Duncan* photo you may not have seen before. *Mary Duncan-"Poppy Dangerous Dame"*

*Mary Duncan-"Stunner!"*

Wendy, I put the Anita's in the Pre-code thread too. *Wings-"The Right To Bare Arms!"* *Clara Bow-Toasty Warm Smile* *Clara-"Rough House Rosie with Pretty Punch Pals"*
-
*Harold and Mildred-"No Fooling Around!"*

*Anita-"Blonde Dynamite!"* *Anita Page-"Top of The Evening"*

*Mary Pickford-"Staircase"* *Mary with Little Jeanne Carpenter-1921*

*Jobyna Ralston-"Now That's A Wink!"*

Wendy. I think *Lois Wilson* was also in *"Mousier Beaucaire?"* It doesn't look much like her though in the photo.

Ed, *CAPTAIN SALVATION* is a terrific movie. Great story and performances. Superb casting. John Robinson is a forgotten director. One well known and respected. Course I have a soft spot for lovely Marceline Day. Yes, Pauline Starke as the fallen "Bess Morgan" is amazing. This film is now available on DVD-R from Warner Archive. *Marceline Day-By The Sea Shore-CAPTAIN SALVATION (1927)* *Marceline Day and Lars Hanson*

Wendy, This one is allot clearer photo. Although, I'm not to sure if that is Madge or Bebe? Hard to tell from the angle. Both were in the picture with Rudy. *Mousier Beaucaire-Rudolph Valentino and Madge Bellamy*

This photo wasn't very sharp and so is pretty difficult to work with. *Dorothy Janis And Renee Adoree by the bay on the set of THE PAGAN.*
-
*Mary Pickford- Ready for Beddy Bye* *Olive Thomas with Russian Wolfhound* *Marceline Day-(This photo is apparently from LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT)* *Mary Duncan with Nervous bite from another very famous lost film F. W. Murnau's legendary 4 DEVILS (1928).*

Wendy, Oh, thanks for those. I only had one of them before. Speaking of *THE GOLD RUSH* here is a rare chance to see the film as Chaplin made it. Carl Davis will be conducting a live Orchestra. It's to bad this is clear across the pond. http://nitrateville.com/viewtopic.php?t=7633

I tend to shy away from Chaplin, Keaton or even Harold Lloyd since they have so many Web-sites and vast cult following out there. However, I decided to work on this photo because it has been one of my favorites for over 25 years. I'm amazed at how much Georgia Hale resembles Corinne Griffith here. And I never really noticed that before about the still? *Charlie and Georgia-Famous still from The Gold Rush*
-
Wendy, I'm surprised that I never posted these photos before. Here is more Vilma Banky with Walter Byron, best known today as the Prince in *QUEEN KELLY.* I'm not sure what film this still was taken from? We need more Banky titles and Vilma and Ronald Colman together. Hopefully, something is in the Gosfilmofond Russian Archive collection and will be announced soon. *Vilma Banky and Walter Byron 1926*

Wendy, She sure looks like Dietrich in that photo, but it is Brigitte Helm.
