  1. Absolutely! Just tell me how much and where to send the money! You may email me privately at platinum_dust@sbcglobal.net. Thanks for the offer!!
  2. I just bought it on ebay!! Only $21!! Thank so much...You guys rock!!
  3. OH NO!! I've missed so much on TCM lately because I've been traveling so much lately for my job....I need to learn to work my timer on my VCR!!
  4. The website said of Nighthawks (the Up All Night diner painting) "But of this picture Hopper said: `I didn't see it as particularly lonely... Unconsciously, probably, I was painting the loneliness of a large city.' "...The info is interesting because I have always felt that loneliness when looking at that his paintings, before I knew they were done by the same person and before the earlier post told me his name. Thanks for the info!!...I will absolutely study him some more.
  5. Whoa! I will go look for The Plastic Age right now! Thank you!!
  6. Edward Hopper..got it! That's good info, great paintings! Thanks!! I love that jazzy music in the Up All Night intro...
  7. I probably shouldn't, but I have to ask: why does Alloy Orchestra immediately start a flame war on a silent film list?? *dodging*
  8. I am 28. There are lots of twenty-somethings that post on here. Thankfully, more younger people are starting to appreciate classic films these days.
  9. The Sunny Side of Life is great too! Yes, please don't change that one TCM! I like the girls in the cloche hats having coffee and the song, of course, is great.
  10. I'd love to get my hands on a copy of The Pagan...thats one I've never seen. Where did you get it, if I may ask??
  11. Wow! I love to see a discussion about Clara, my all time favorite actress, ever since I was a little girl. TCM SHOULD be airing more of her movies. Mantrap would be one I'd love to see on the air...its a great film, and directed by Victor Fleming too! Does anyone know if The Plastic Age has ever been shown since it was made...I don't think its in the TCM libarary...that is one I would love to finally see!
  12. I mean the one that comes before....I think its really the sound that the el makes as it bumps along is what I love so much. I don't know...its a weird thing to miss so much. But I also liked the voyueristic little glimpses into the windows too.
  13. YES!Thank you! That's exactly what I mean...If they ever change the intro for Silent Sunday Nights, I think I'll have a nervous breakdown. I love that intro too. And its been playing for years, you get so comfortable with those little intros. I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses the el...
  14. You remember that little vignette (is that the right word?) that used to play at the start of every movie TCM ran of the el train?...for years and years I would listen and be lulled into classic movie watching mode as the el bumped along...around the start of the year they changed it to something more "modern" with music and graphics and I was absolutely stunned! I couldn't believe it! Even now, months later, it makes me cringe and I wish they would bring back the el! No offense to the people who made the vignette, I just don't like change! My husband, not a classic movie fanatic like myself,
