  4. May I also add to this that I think Sidney Poitier is one of the finest actors ever! He's in with my top favorites, right next to Tom Hanks and I look forward to seeing more and more of his films. I missed IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT yesterday but did catch a little of BLACKBOARD JUNGLE today. Great health and a long quality-filled life for Mr. Poitier! Thank you, thank you, thank you Turner Classics Movies, you're King of tv.
  5. P.S. What are some of other forum members thoughts on this and/or suggestions/comments/opinions?(~:
  6. Hello. I realize it may be alittle too late for this but is there any chance more controversal Hollywood theatrical cartoons in TCM's library will be included within these specials? Mainly I'd like to see the tamer titles such as UNCLE TOM'S CABANA with Tex Avery's "Red" character and WB cartoon masterpieces like 'COAL BLACK' and TIN PAN ALLEY CATS with a FATS WALLERS type cat. I'm not asking for really racist stuff like JUNGLE JITTERS which even I find offensive (and I'm a whiteboy). Besides every Febuary during TCM's Academy month I see the Happy Harmonies cartoon THE OLD MILL POND with "black" frogs. Also wasn't there a live-action theatrical shorts series for Amos N' Andy? I thought I saw that on the TRIO cable tv channel so maybe that and some Stepin Fetchit titles since FYI he was a REAL black man and not a white guy in black-face like some people think. And if TCM can secure the rights some OUR GANG (LITTLE RASCALS) titles, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, and Cab Calloway pictures. Also FYI the earliest known footage of Cab is in the Betty Boop short MINNIE THE MOOCHER based on his song of course and he was in many other BBs and Fleischer Bros. productions. Many of this material is also in the public domain so it shouldn't be too hard to obtain for airing. I thank everyone greatly for reading this and I appreciate alls time.
