All of that was good advice. Thank you so much all of these posts helped me. I geuss submitting a test review on a movie would be a good idea. Maybe we could make a game out of it on the forum where people submit thier reviews and then we all write what we thought of the review. I would feel more comfortable that way. but anywho thanks for the help! -Mary-

Ah I forgot that italian movie "Its a beautiful life" or something about the jew who marries the italian and all... I think that was the saddest movie I've ever seen.

For some reason "notorious" really hit my tear jerker spot. The movie "To each his own" got my sister real bad.

Im stuck in a dead end college and theres no way out. here's my story: At the beginning of my senior year in high school, everyone was called to thier counsolers office to discuss thier future in college and career. I was really excited about all this because I needed help on figuring out what to do. I knew alot about movies cars and music from the 1900's and up. Well, everytime I got called to my counseler she was "sick". So I went to the office a total of 7 times that year trying to see her. It came to April and I did'nt know it was too late to register in any college but a community college. So I did, and being confused as I was, I enrolled in a community college for auto mechanics. Everyone told me "you dont need to know anything about cars to take this course." and that was bull because I dropped all my auto mechanics courses because I didnt know what the teacher was talking about. So I entered into associates in art and college transfer to NC state. Now, I feel so lost because Im trying to be a journalist but they dont have a journalism course at NC state, so I was going to take creative writing. I don't now if im going the right way and I feel that from the time It was too late to enroll in good colleges (which was my own stupidity I should of known better). I really want a career in journalism as a film critic but I dont know if im going the right way. Anyone have any advice?

I think bollywood is great, i dont see how anyone couldnt like it other than they need to change the name because Indian people find it offensive. I love TCM and how they give interesting facts about this and that before the movie starts and when it ends, TCM is my own personal learning station. I appreciate it, but thats just me...oh well

Selon moi, "Laugh clown laugh" reminded me of the modern day Woody Allen biography movie just mixed up in a circus. I truthfully would of felt disturbed by the movie and not of liked it, but his performance was outstanding as well as Loretta Young and both of them together made it a great movie. They both deserved massive amount of emmys for this movie. If they had an emmy for all the different faces he could put on, him and dana carvey would be the masters of it. -
there was a movie i tried to suggest but they said they didnt have it, i think it was "the beach" with fred astaire and ava gardner?? i dunno but thats a great movie and i wanna see it...

Job careers in old movies, for today.

Yeah that would be really cool. I was thinking maybe I could be a movie specialist person and teach at colleges, give seminars, and work on the board for the oscars. But if I became a specialist I would wanna be a music specialist cause theres more jobs in that feild and I LOVE music also. -
They should play silent films anyways, I stay up until 1:30 watching them and have to wake up for school at 6, great appreciation. I think they should show silent films every saturday night too....

Im a senior in high school, and im REALLY interested in old movies, particularly silent films lately. Does anyone know any jobs a person could possibly have with working with silent or just old films? Im graduating soon and I gotta know what to do with my life, its either this, or be a mechanic, or a teacher.
