  1. Ok, NOW I'll jump in! LOL!!!!!!!!
  2. I've been waiting for that one, movielover11! It just might be the most famous.
  3. Thank you, Fred! 1944! Man, was I off! Well, it has been a long time. You're the BEST!
  4. Ha! Yeah, me too, usually. But, in the case of Lamarr, there is no contest for me. But, as far as a guy, I was thinkin' maybe Guy Madison, good looking, but not a major star. Burt Lancaster was great, but he really wasn't on the same level as far as looks as Power or Hudson. So, my conclusion is the 40's didn't produce any major heartthrob!
  5. Ok, I'm back. Well, I have to say, I was very disappointed in that film. You are right she was very wishy washy. I was in and out cause I had so many animal problems. I have two cats and two dogs, and I have to get them all ready for bed. But, anyway. I much rather enjoyed the previews of Hedy Lamarr in H.M.Pullam, Esq. after the movie! I couldn't believe it! There was Hedy! Yeah! I think it's time for another picture!! Just to remind everyone whose thread this is!
  6. Ok, I miss the old gas stations. I miss the smell of gas and summer mixed together. I miss the old music, which had melody and romance. I miss the old architecture were the floorboards creaked when you walked across the room. I miss the small shops where they knew your name, and would call you up when they got something in they thought you would like.
  7. Hold on a minute cinemabuff! I just can't believe the description of dpd's living situation! It is so remote from mine! Oh, how I wish I were there, sans (french, for without) mosquitoes! Life is so hectic here, even in California!
  8. It was a movie. I remember seeing it too. He kept it in a shoebox in his room near a window. I can see that little boy's face clear as day, but I can't for the life of me remember anything else! It had to be a 50's movie.
  9. Oh, but the old glass bottles were so much fun, and reaching down into those red freezers or coolers, or whatever they were! Gosh, there are so many things I miss.
  10. I just laughed through that whole thing! And, I am still laughing!
  11. Ok, I went down there and clicked on TCM Spain, but I couldn't understand a thing! Ha! I clicked on a few things but none of them looked like a forum.
  12. I don't know what you are talking about! I will have to go down and check.
  13. Oh, that coke sounds so much fun!! Well, let us know when it starts. I have seen pictures of her and I thought she was very beautiful. Never seen her act though. Yes, they say that the production was short lived. It seemed no one else could believe it either, or maybe it was because of Burton's failing health. He died soon after it closed. So, maybe that is why it failed. I don't know, but I do know that it takes a lot of energy to put that play over!!!
  14. Oh, I know, but she is a piece of work. Argumentative, jealous, needy. I just don't bother with her anymore.
  15. Noel Coward wrote and starred in it with Gertrude Lawrence on stage in London when it originally opened. And, yes, Taylor and Burton did it on Broadway, too!
  16. I love Norma, too. Funny, she was my wife's number one favorite, too! Before, we were married, I lent her my copy of Marie Antoinette, whom my wife idolized as well, and she was hooked. She could never get enough Norma. That is one of my all time favorite movies. I love the banter! Noel Coward is a genius!
  17. Oh, ok. I just wondered! I had a good friend years ago who idolized Dolores! I used to buy every picture I saw of her and frame it for him He had one whole wall from ceiling to floor with her pictures. She was gorgeous! And, I know gorgeous!
  18. Hi, guys. I bought the VHS version back in 1990. It was the 50th Anniversay issued in 1989. It boasts of being the new fully restored version. So, is there a new fully restored version? I was trying to follow your conversation but I got confused.
