  1. During times in between movies to be shown there has been a compilation of segments from Oscar nominated films. One of the movie clips shows an earthquake where a pillar with the head of a god is seen. A battle is going on and it looks like this event happened during the time of the Roman empire or maybe after that. I think it is from the silent movie, Intolerance, but am not sure about this. Does anyone know which movie this scene if from? Please let me know as I would like to purchase it. Thank you.

    I Love Lucy

The episode that you spoke of, "Lucy Takes a Trip to Havana", is not on the Volume 1 box set.
  3. I don't think that June Allyson was a prostitute because she worked as an actress in MGM studios and they would not allow a prostitute to become an actress. June Allyson has always come across to me as a joyful person who enjoyed singing and dancing parts in movies.
  4. The third one has Elvis Presley playing his guitar, but I don't know who the girl is. Message was edited by: Kinston
  5. The first one is Debbie Reynolds and William Holden. It's from a musical from the 1950's.
  6. The teacher in the movie, "Nicholas Nickleby"?
  7. This is another one: A boy fell into an icy river and was paralyzed and was kept in bed. Two birds come to his window that is open and sing to him, and then fly away. He looks over to a friend of his and says, "Spring?"
  8. Here's another one for you: "It was beauty that killed the beast."
  9. What movie does this quote come from: "My daddy is going away. But he will return some other day."
  10. Gary Cooper? He injured his abdomen to where it was hard for him to ride a horse.
  11. I disagree with what was said that Lucy didn't have what it took to be a top star in hollywood like Bob Hope, Irene Dunne, etc. It was because of her movie roles that she got the part of Lucy on the I Love Lucy show. She was a great comedianne. Recently, I saw her in a musical and she impressed me alot as she had a beautiful singing voice. Even though she was not "billed" as a top star, her acting stands out to me as very memorable.
  12. Lucy can sing- better in movies than in the I Love Lucy TV shows. She really had a beautiful voice, and she could dance too. She should have done more of this in the movies. On TCM it was said that Lucy was only given secondhand roles in movies, but she gave her all in what she did. I thoroughly agree, as her acting really shines, (and in my opinion, it stands out sometimes over other actors and actresses.) In the movie, "The Long, Long Trailer", Lucy and Ricky get into an argument over the directions she gave him. She says, "You want to make a right here left". I understand what she is saying. Watching her, she really gives me a belly laugh, if I can say it that way. I wish she was still living today, but we can enjoy her still on movies and television. "Beeta Meeta Vitavegimen. It's tasty too!" What a sensational actress!
  13. A Farewell To Arms (1931) has romance during World War 1.
  14. I have one for you: Who said this, and in what movie? "Peace.Peace".
