The Man Who Would Be King (1975) -- Sir Sean Connery, Sir Michael Caine, Christopher Plummer, Saeed Jaffrey, Doghmi Larbi, Jack May, Karroom Ben Bouih, Mohammad Shamsi, Albert Moses, Paul Antrim, Graham Acres, Shakira Caine, The Blue Dancers of Goulamine. Director John Huston spent more than 20 years trying to bring Rudyard Kipling's 1888 short story to the screen and succeeded with this effort. In the film, Plummer portrays Kipling, who makes the acquaintance of Daniel Dravot (Connery) and Peachy Carnehan (Caine) -- two former British officers in India with big adventure plans. The two rogues make their way to Kafiristan -- now part of Afghanistan -- where Daniel somehow becomes revered by the populace as a god. Unfortunately, his new status begins to go to his head. Jaffrey, the Indian-born British actor who played the companion Billy Fish in the movie, died on November 15, 2015 at the age of 86. Expires June 13, 2015. 2. Miami Connection (1987) -- Y.K. Kim, Vincent Hirsch, Joseph Diamond, Maurice Smith, Angelo Janotti, Kathy Collier, William Ergle, Siyung Jo, Richard Park, William P. Young, Joy Sharpe, John Leeson, William Hollingsed. This independent martial arts film was produced, co-written and co-directed by Kim, the movie's lead actor. He stars as the leader of a rock band called Dragon Sound, whose members are skilled in Taekwondo. They soon find themselves matched against a group of sinister, motorcycle-riding ninjas involved in the Miami narcotics trade. Kim co-authored and co-directed the film with Park, who appears as Uncle Song. Expires June 13, 2015.
