Four. "CSI: Cyber," which starred Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette and Ted Danson, aired on CBS for two seasons --from March 4, 2015 to March 13, 2016. It used this song by The Who:

The great Richard Rodgers -- our first EGOT winner -- composed the theme song for "The Great Adventure," a short-lived CBS anthology series that aired during the 1963-1964 season. The episodes -- featuring stories about such historical figures as Nathan Hale, John Brown and Harriet Tubman -- were narrated by Van Heflin and Russell Johnson (before he became The Professor of "Gilligan's Island").

Yanni's 1986 song "Santorini" memorably was used for CBS Sports' coverage of the U.S. Open tennis tournaments in the late 80s and early 90s.
-
This opening sequence had three things going for it. The theme was an orchestral version of Burt Bacharach's song "Nikki." The announcer was Dick Tufeld, who was the voice of The Robot on TV's "Lost in Space." The opening titles were inspired by the final segment of Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi classic "2001: A Space Odyssey." Harry Marks, ABC's head of On-Air Advertising, hired Douglas Trumbull of "2001" to design the special graphics for the network's package of 90-minute made-for-television movies. ABC's "The Movie of the Week" aired from 1969 to 1976

Here's a '60s TV theme that became a pop hit. It was composed by Morton Stevens. The Ventures' 1969 cover went to No, 4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The fast-paced editing of the opening credits presaged the MTV era.
-
The 60s themes weren't bad. Here's one of the catchiest tunes, credited to Lionel Newman and Vera Matson. But some sources say Matson's husband Ken Darby actually wrote it with Newman. No wonder the Darbys were married for 60 years!

My runner-up is "The A-Team" theme by the prolific Mike Post, who composed or co-created the theme songs for "The Rockford Files," "Hill Street Blues," "Magnum, P.I.," "L.A. Law" and "The Greatest American Hero." Many of them reached the Top 40 on Billboard's pop chart (Joey Scarbury's hit "Believe It Or Not" from "The Greatest American Hero" was No. 2 in 1981). "The A-Team" aired on NBC from 1982 to 1987. The opening credits tell you just about everything you need to know about the series. And I love the shot of Dirk Benedict and a Cylon.
-
My favorite: The "e.r." opening credits. Composer James Newton Howard used a recurring siren sound to set a tone of urgency for the series. But the best thing about the fast-paced opening credits is that it introduced at least 10 regulars in less than a minute. The series stopped using the theme song after Season 12, but it was brought back during Season 15 for the final episode on April 2, 2009.

Bob Strauss @bscritic #TheBirthdayCake is a modern neighborhood hangout movie as well as a classic New York mob thriller. Like #MeanStreets meets #Slackers. With a fun supporting cast of such genre stalwarts as #LorraineBracco, #LuisGuzman, #VincentPastore, #ValKilmer, #PaulSorvino & #WilliamFichtner. 4:50 PM · Jun 18, 2021·Twitter Web App

Bob Strauss @bscritic #LesNotres is a very effective and disturbing study of a well-to-do Quebec town's appalling reaction to a 13-year-old girl's pregnancy. Bob Strauss @bscritic Two new horror movies, Russia's #Superdeep (@Shudder) and South Africa's #Gaia, are about monster fungi infecting folks and grotesquely blooming all over their bodies. Wonder where that idea came from? Both films have great icky #fx & trouble maintaining coherent narratives. 3:29 PM · Jun 18, 2021·Twitter Web App

Bob Strauss @bscritic You don't have to work out to love #Physical with #RoseByrne. It's the smartest, most observant cultural comedy to hit TV yet this year. First three episodes now on #AppleTV+. 3:13 PM · Jun 18, 2021·Twitter Web App

Bob Strauss @bscritic #Luca is #Pixar's least thematically ambitious film in some time, and somewhat charming for that. This story about tween sea monsters trying to pass for human in a stereotypical Italian beach town is strictly for kids, though. Its tolerance message is nice and effective. 3:01 PM · Jun 18, 2021·Twitter Web App

Bob Strauss @bscritic Argentine thriller #LaDosis presents a low-simmer rivalry between two male clinic nurses who kill their patients. A tad pokey and superficial, but well-acted and ultimately quite suspenseful plot mechanics-, moral ambiguity- and audience implication-wise. 3:49 PM · Jun 11, 2021·Twitter Web App
