Some things to consider before the 93rd annual Academy Awards ceremony, which will air Sunday on ABC: The early morning hours of Monday, March 15, 2021 were surely a heady time for the bespectacled music performer billed as H.E.R. (real name: Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson). Only hours before, the 23-year-old Northern California product had won the Song of the Year Grammy Award for her socially conscious R&B hit "I Can't Breathe." Then came the news that she and her songwriting partners D'Mile (Dernst "D'Mile" Emile II) and Tiara Thomas had received Oscar nominations for their song "Fight for You" from the fact-baswed film drama "Judas and the Black Messiah." The track -- also a socially conscious effort -- is performed at the end of the Best Picture-nominated tale about the doomed 1960s Black Panther leader Fred Hampton (portrayed by Best Supporting Actor nominee Daniel Kaluuya).

Sir Peter was a great Poirot, and he also excelled at playing colorful rogues and tyrants. But for some reason, I always think of him as the outsider with the peculiar North American accent in "Logan's Run" (1976).

Some things to consider before the 93rd annual Academy Awards ceremony, which will air Sunday on ABC: "Husavík," the Best Original Song nominee from the musical comedy "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga," was written by Rickard Göransson, Fat Max Gsus (Max Grahn) and Savan Kotecha. The tune was performed in the movie by Will Ferrell and the Swedish pop singer Molly Sandén (pictured below, who provided a lion's share of the vocals for Ferrell's co-star Rachel McAdams). The song's title refers to the Icelandic hometown of Eurovision contestants Lars Erickssong (Ferrell) and Sigrit Ericksdóttir (McAdams).
