Bye Bye Braverman?

OK. I'll jump in.
A blast from the past: 1970s
A young woman finds that her husband has left her, and has begun filing for divorce. Soon to be completely penniless, she must find a job. Her neighbor offers solace and comfort, but she is devastated.

No problem, Darla! And I hope you both are able to enjoy that wonderful film soon! Lauren Bacall discussed how working in that enjoyable comedy helped save her sanity while she was emoting for *Designing Woman* and dealing with husband Humphrey Bogart's devastating last days during his final illness in the recently aired interview she did with Robert Osborne in 2005 for *Private Screenings*.

Kingrat, I think those are two great choices!
*Garden of Evil* would be lovely on the big screen. Directed by Henry Hathaway, it is the only Western to have a score penned by Bernard Hermann, who also created the lively, sweeping score for *The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.* The sounds of the sea were never the same again!
Also, Rita Moreno appears as the Cantina cantante, and she would be a marvelous guest for the intro to this epic gem on the big screen. With costumes by Travilla, it's an added incentive for fashionistas.
With the scenery of the Paricutin volcano in the state of Michoacan (six hours from Mexico City) and hills of Uruapan in the same state, it would be a lovely vision for the big screen. I've actually been to some of the areas where this was filmed.

I believe it's also on DVD in one of the Fox Western Classics collections.

Sansfin, I am marvelling at all your travels and experiences, and I thank you for sharing them with us. :-)

Indulge, Bronxie. Indulge...
I would love to have Nelson Eddy singing to me in my basement..."Oh, Sue Marie, I...."

The December 2 gala will pay tribute to blues musician Buddy Guy, actor Dustin Hoffman, late-night host David Letterman, dancer Natalia Makarova, and British rock band Led Zeppelin (Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones will receive the honors in person).

Congratulations, Capuchin!
Your challenge will be a unique one, I am sure.

And a big GRACIAS to the Countess for organizing all the fun.
There were so many wonderful schedules, and so many hours devoted to creation of these wonderful ideas. I hope to see them sometime soon on TCM!

I, for one, would like to again express my appreciation that a Guest Programmer like Debra Levine has taken the time and interest in these Message Boards to post information concerning her appearance on Turner Classic Movies.
This particular thread, initiated by Ms. Levine, is one of the few times in my experience that a Guest Programmer has extended such a courtesy to the TCM Message Board members, and I am grateful for her personal interest in sharing her expertise.
Thank you, again, Debra Levine!

It was Jack Cole, just recetly featured on Monday night, September 10th, and Robert Osborne was discussing his talents and accomplishments with the wonderful Debra Levine, who posted a thread in Hot Topics. An enjoyable evening of dance on film!

Thanks, lavenderblue. This is a great game. If nothing else, I enjoy reading it, and guessing.

Dear Debra,
I greatly enjoyed your commetary tonight as TCM spotlighted "Choreography by Jack Cole."

Hysterically, rib-ticklingly funny. I can't wait to hear what you might say about Up With People.
Please grant Izcutter's request. I can't wait for the *Billy Jack* recap.
I haven't laughed this hard since I read *The Beaver Papers.

*True Grit* ?

I'm definitely a fan of *Downton Abbey*, and glad to know you all are, too! :-)
There is a wonderful special about Higclere Castle on PBS, and I just saw it. Fascinating history! I certainly agree that *Gosford Park* was an excellent prelude to *Downton Abbey* for Julian Fellowes*.* I fell in love with *Mr. Bates!*

*Cool Hand Luke* ?

Miles, I have just recently seen that wonderful Oscar Hammerstein special on PBS, "Out of My Dreams," that discussed how the categories had been changed to accomodate songs only written for a particular film. Hope you had a chance to see it, too.
Thanks for an in-depth analysis!
