  1. Yes, I'm a Flynn fan. I keep wondering when "Desperate Journey" & "Edge of Darkness" are going to become available on dvd. Message was edited by: Bastogne
  2. They show it every few months. I have been waiting for it to become available on dvd, but alas, not yet.
  3. Thanks for the news, chic. I'm very pleased to hear this.
  4. Recently I read somewhere that this film scheduled to be made available on HD fairly quickly - does anyone have any further info on this?
  5. I can't limit it to ten. 1. Battleground 2. They Were Expendable 3. All Quiet on the Western Front 4. The Big Parade 5. Dunkirk 6. The Great Escape 7. Platoon 8. Guadalcanal Diary 9. The Dawn Patrol 10. Bridge on the River Kwai 11. The Longest Day 12. Twelve O'Clock High 13. Paths of Glory
  6. I can't disagree with "Out of the Past", but I would put "The Asphalt Jungle" right next to it.
  7. I've never heard of a JW film with that title. Are you sure that you're not confusing one of his "Rio" titles (Rio Grande, Rio Lobo, Rio Bravo) with "Hondo"? All four films are available on dvd.
  8. I hope you're right about that. When I viewed the lists of films initially offered in HD I wasn't impressed, but "The Searchers" is a great selection.
  9. Thanks for the response - your guess is as good as mine or anyone else's. Next I'm wondering if there will ever be a boxed set of Ford's trilogy - just the three titles. Wouldn't that be a great idea for a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray release?
  10. Does anyone know why "Rio Grande" was not included in the new John Wayne-John Ford dvd boxed set? Since this was the third & final film of Ford's cavalry trilogy I cannot imagine why it wasn't included.
  11. IMHO, the best American actor.
  12. I'd like to know why TCM hasn't shown a great WWII film, "Dunkirk" in a long time? It wasn't even shown during the last Ealing Film Studio tribute. What gives, TCM?
