This was on television frequently back in the day and then vanished for decades. Nice cast and atmosphere, but definitely more mystery than horror...no great close-ups of the werewolf as publicity stills would have us believe. I like it a lot.

The Robert Montgomery fest today was sensational. Now THAT's the TCM I know and love. -

The author of the novel, Patricia Highsmith, was a lesbian. Hope that doesn't shock the more conservative posters. The film's been around since 1951. But it seems the relationship between Guy and Bruno is a new revelation to some! -
Love the BEHIND THE MASK poster! How about some stills and posters of the very-rare NIGHT LIFE OF THE GODS (Universal, 1935)?

I'm really hoping for a great October schedule this year...to make up for the dreary 31 DAYS OF OSCAR in February...among other transgressions! ;-)

Thank you, TCM, for Monday's HERE COMES/THERE GOES fest. A fun idea with some rare titles. That's the TCM we know and love! -

> {quote:title=Big_Bopper wrote:}{quote} > Just wanna notify yous I was only kidding about the gay theme. The movie is normal & its a great movie. I was unaware there were two versions until last week. I had recorded it off amc in the 90's & never watched it. So I recorded it again last night. Turns out the one on amc was the alternate version. That was lucky huh? The way you can tell right away is the credits. On the official version under Farley Granger's name it says: "Mr. Granger appears by arrangement with Samuel Goldwyn" > On the alternate version it just lists his name. there are lots of bits of footage that were cut in the official version. nothing important. the ending is different. the official version has Ruth Roman & Farley on a train & a priest asks him if he is Guy Haines. This scene is not in the alternate version. What exactly do you mean by "normal"? -

Finally, what TCM is really about! -
We'll see how cute this is when we get commercials on TCM. You've been warned.
-
That Gary Cooper poster is a knockout!
-
There's nothing at all amusing about this. It sounds like TCM is a step closer to using commercial advertising during its films.

I'm dying to see Fay Wray's "lost" Universals from 1934...MADAME SPY; THE COUNTESS OF MONTE CRISTO; CHEATING CHEATERS.

A heartwarming Red State moment! As long as they're married and doing it missionary style for purposes of procreation!

How about photos & posters from the lost THE MONKEY'S PAW (RKO, 1933)? There is a rumor it exists at the UCLA Film Archives.

I recommed the original novel by Patricia Highsmith (author of THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY). Fortunately, books were not subject to the Motion Picture Production Code. And congratulations, Californians. -

No Richard Dix. No Helen Twelvetrees. No Wheeler & Woolsey. No Constance Bennett. No Ann Harding. No John Gilbert. No William Haines. No Ramon Novarro. No Jack Holt. No Joe E. Brown. No Glenda Farrell. No Thelma Todd. No Leila Hyams. No Richard Barthelmess. No Bebe Daniels. No Billie Dove. No Marion Davies. Need I continue?
