  1. "Una" is never correctly pronounced "yuna", be it Merkel or O'Connor.
  2. The 2 Columbia G-man movies are my picks for Most Likely To Get Pulled.
  3. Una Merkel is pronounced "OONA", not "YUNA".
  4. Hedger, I find the IGNORE feature to be an effective anti-troll device. They can spew their nonsense and you don't have to see it...love it!
  5. Finally, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO (1934)!
  6. Who did you call a troll? Somebody in a movie or a poster? People are easily offended here so you have to type on eggshells.
  7. I've seen NOSFERATU, the silent PETER PAN, THE BLUE ANGEL, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, GRAND ILLUSION, GONE WITH THE WIND, SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS, THE WAGES OF FEAR and SPARTACUS at Upstate Films in Rhinebeck, NY.
  8. I like Bill Maher, even though he is a smart ****. But he's a funny and intelligent one!
  9. John Carradine was also seriously afflicted with arthritis. His hands and feet were terribly gnarled...but he was a trouper!
  10. A COMEDY OF TERRORS (1964) is a hoot.
  11. From 1937 or 38 on, he was in a wheelchair.
  12. Buy the Mae West Glamour Collection. It's well worth the price.
  13. I wholeheartedly agree with markbeckuaf. That is what TCM is about. LILY TURNER is a real gem and I'm a Mae Clarke fan. Also looking forward to HEAT LIGHTING and its great cast. Keep this up, TCM!!!
  14. Thelma Todd AND Sally Eilers...would love to see that one on TCM.
  15. The "classic" Paramounts are owned by Universal, which also needs to step up to the plate.
  16. Comedically, Nat Pendleton and Edward Brophy. Ralf Harolde, Noel Madison, Marc Lawrence, Joseph Calleia and Harold Huber (a genuine scarface!) were all top-notch.
  17. DANGEROUS CORNER played on AMC back in the 80s (when Bob Dorian was host).
  18. > {quote:title=markfp2 wrote:}{quote} > Two things to keep in mind. First, Universal and Fox control which of their films TCM can lease. It's not the other way around. I've given up on trying guess the reasons that both those studios do what they do in regards to releasing classics.I do know that in the case of Fox, they save some of them just for their own Fox Movie Channel. > I'm glad somebody else gets it!
  19. It's easy to forget how great TCM is when they consistently do things that are frustrating...like too many schedule changes; too many 1970s movies; too many 1980s movies; too many 1990s movies; too many 2000s movies. You have to remind yourself of the good things, like Ann Harding; Ruth Chatterton; William Haines; the Crime Doctor; the Lone Wolf; Mexican Spitfire; Val Lewton; William Wellman; Silent Sundays; TCM Underground; et al.
  20. Pre-codes (especially from Warner Bros.) are hardly "tired fare".
  21. Probably PICTURE SNATCHER. Although BLONDE CRAZY, TAXI! and LADY KILLER come close.
  22. To put it succintly, showing RUSH HOUR 2 on TCM is an anathema.
