  1. It's easily explained. The vast majority of Bob Hope's films were made for Paramount. They are not in the TCM Library. TCM does not have ready access to Paramount titles.
  2. RUSH HOUR 2 but not THE HATCHET MAN or THE SON-DAUGHTER???!!!
  3. That's what I'm talkin' about!
  4. We'd be better served by a documentary featuring Sessue Hayakawa, Anna May Wong, Sojin, Keye Luke, Philip Ahn, Richard Loo, Victor Sen Yung, et al. Bamboo splinters under the programmers' nails for this!
  5. He co-starred with Mary Astor in the elusive RETURN OF THE TERROR (First National, 1934). I'm not sure why this has never played on TCM, as it should be in their library. Can tcmprogrammer answer this???
  6. Stella Zucco (the late Mrs. George Zucco) refuted what Anger said about her husband in Hollywood Babylon II. He was never a raving lunatic. He spent his final years in a sanatarium after suffering a stroke but was always docile. This is just one example of Angers' "reporting".
  7. How about the lovely HELEN TWELVETREES? She was a fab pre-Code star!
  8. Maybe add some made-for-TV titles like DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK; CROWHAVEN FARM; GARGOYLES; THE NIGHT STALKER; THE NIGHT STRANGLER; Dan Curtis' DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE; MOON OF THE WOLF; THE NORLISS TAPES, et al.
  9. I'd like to add a "veddy" British supernatural comedy called THINGS HAPPEN AT NIGHT. It might just be the first poltergeist film!
  10. My favorite movie genres are classic horror (1945 & prior); the pre-Code/early talkie era; B-movies (1945 & prior). My favorite music is Motown (1964-70)...Supremes; Four Tops; Martha Reeves; Temptations; Kim Weston; Jimmy Ruffin; et al.
  11. I can recommend most - if not all - books by Gregory Mank, Gary Don Rhodes and William K. Everson.
  12. I'd love to see her Universal comedies with Slim Summerville. They haven't seen the light of day in decades, like so many other 1930s Universal features.
  13. Thanks for responding. I appreciate your attention. However, I think most of those titles (except Columbia's MAN'S CASTLE) have previously played on TCM. I especially enjoy those Blondell-Farrell co-starring comedies.
  14. While it may be true that 31 DAYS OF OSCAR offers films of different genres, the problem IS they are all Oscar-nominated! You don't get any B-movies, you don't get any series films and you don't get TCM Underground. February stinks!
  15. I would welcome tributes to both John Abbott and William Beaudine. In fact, I suggested a Beaudine tribute @ SUGGEST A MOVIE several months ago!
  16. I hope tcmprogrammer comments on this. It seems pre-Code fans always get the shaft.
  17. June 30th is Glenda's birthday (#104) and they scheduled a day of her movies. Now the schedule has been changed! GGGRRRRRRR!
  18. Does this mean we'll be saddled with an "Evil Bette Davis" thread? Dios mio!
  19. The super-fabulous Gale Sondergaard also suffered because of the Communist witch hunt. After 1949, she didn't appear in another film until 1969!
  20. What happened to Glenda Farrell Day on June 30th? I'm very disappointed.
  21. 1968? The year I graduated from kindergarten! I didn't know anything about Martin Luther King or Bobby Kennedy or Vietnam. I was all about LOST IN SPACE, THE MONKEES, DAKTARI, Christmas and Halloween!
  22. TERROR ABOARD (Paramount, 1933) MURDERS IN THE ZOO (Paramount, 1933)
  23. Bela Lugosi Lionel Atwill Helen Twelvetrees Mary Wilson (singer) F**k the haters!
