Who should be contacted at Universal (name, address)?
-
No vintage films/negatives were destroyed in the 2009 fire.
-
And NINE GIRLS (1944) has been announced several times and never shown.
-
I'm surprised neither NIGHT OF TERROR (1933) nor THE BEST MAN WINS (1935) has shown up on TCM. Both feature Bela Lugosi.
-
He was at Paramount before WB and MGM. Now those would be really interesting.
-
I agree with Infinite1. What is going on with these Universal titles? Is the TCM Programming Department not being aggressive enough? Is the problem with Universal? Answers please...and from the programmers not the apologists.

I remember Dana Andrews starring in a soap opera called BRIGHT PROMISE, which was on NBC 1969-1972.

For Fox stars, how about Warner Baxter or Elissa Landi?

Like playing country music on a classic rock station.

It's a crashing bore. But I am well prepared this year.

> {quote:title=darkblue wrote:}{quote}I'm curious, PrinceSaliano. How do you know what to use the 'ignore' feature on? Does using it lead to the assumption that you're not missing much? I've put people on "ignore" when they've been repeatedly arrogant and obnoxious. One fellow followed me from thread to thread with his political rants. Most recently, for taking delight in hijacking threads and posting numerous, inane posts for (apparently) the sake of posting and trying to be funny. In the immortal words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't Nobody Got Time for That!".

The worst idea since Jacques Cousteau Day. However, I wouldn't mind if an occasional made-for-TV flick showed up on TCM Underground (e.g., CROWHAVEN FARM, THE NIGHT STALKER, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK).

Would like to see three silent stars featured (e.g., Richard Barthelmess, Laura La Plante, Dolores Costello). Would like to see some character/supporting players featured (Dwight Frye, Glenda Farrell, Mischa Auer). Would definitely like to see some Universal/Paramount stars (Bela Lugosi, Gloria Stuart, Evelyn Ankers, Nancy Carroll, Richard Arlen, W.C. Fields). RKO stars Wheeler and Woolsey definitely deserve a day. And how about a day of Monograms?

I can't think of one that would hold up today, weren't they fairly tawdry? I can't think of any that I watched (I cared very little about TV shows in the 1980's, watching only old movies and very old shows if shown on channels like Nick At Night or TV Land) but I don't want TCM to start showing them. I completely agree with you, musicalnovelty.

35,000 posts since 2009? You are going on "Ignore".

> {quote:title=finance wrote:}{quote}There is nothing wrong with taking threads off-topic. This is not a classroom. These threads are like in-person bull seessions, in which the conversation can go in many unpredictable directions. If someone wants to bring the thread back to the original topic, that's great, too. > > Edited by: finance on Jan 29, 2013 9:18 AM According to the TCM Web Administrator (Message Board Announcements, 12/22/12), "This forum is a place where you can share and discuss ideas about classic films." If you want to discuss cars (classic or otherwise), lingerie, Meditteranean cuisine, life on Mars or some other unrelared topic, create you own thread.

I was lucky enough to receive this book as a Christmas gift. Lotsa potential TCM Underground fare!

Why are people talking about cars here?
