  1. I agree with Infinite1. What is going on with these Universal titles? Is the TCM Programming Department not being aggressive enough? Is the problem with Universal? Answers please...and from the programmers not the apologists.

  5. > {quote:title=darkblue wrote:}{quote}I'm curious, PrinceSaliano. How do you know what to use the 'ignore' feature on? Does using it lead to the assumption that you're not missing much?

I've put people on "ignore" when they've been repeatedly arrogant and obnoxious. One fellow followed me from thread to thread with his political rants. Most recently, for taking delight in hijacking threads and posting numerous, inane posts for (apparently) the sake of posting and trying to be funny. In the immortal words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't Nobody Got Time for That!".

  6. Would like to see three silent stars featured (e.g., Richard Barthelmess, Laura La Plante, Dolores Costello). Would like to see some character/supporting players featured (Dwight Frye, Glenda Farrell, Mischa Auer). Would definitely like to see some Universal/Paramount stars (Bela Lugosi, Gloria Stuart, Evelyn Ankers, Nancy Carroll, Richard Arlen, W.C. Fields). RKO stars Wheeler and Woolsey definitely deserve a day. And how about a day of Monograms?

I can't think of any that I watched (I cared very little about TV shows in the 1980's, watching only old movies and very old shows if shown on channels like Nick At Night or TV Land) but I don't want TCM to start showing them.

I completely agree with you, musicalnovelty.

These threads are like in-person bull seessions, in which the conversation can go in many unpredictable directions. If someone wants to bring the thread back to the original topic, that's great, too.

According to the TCM Web Administrator (Message Board Announcements, 12/22/12), "This forum is a place where you can share and discuss ideas about classic films." If you want to discuss cars (classic or otherwise), lingerie, Meditteranean cuisine, life on Mars or some other unrelared topic, create you own thread.
