  10. > {quote:title=obrienmundy wrote:}{quote}i would like to see more silent films on TCM. And, although this does not apply to TCM, I wish that the Warner Archive DVD Series will focus again on bringing classic movies to DVD. In reference to silents, I would love to see THE LAST WARNING and SEVEN FOOTPRINTS TO SATAN on TCM. Neither is lost. Let me also add SORROWS OF SATAN and THE BAT.

There is one imdb review in which the reviewer says that the film was screened at Graumann's Chinese Theater in 1985. Nobody else has reviewed the film. > > TRICK FOR TRICK was shown on August 14, 2004 at the annual Capitolfest film festival week-end in Rome, NY. > The print was a nice 35mm from MoMA that even had the exit music intact. The movie was a highlight of the week-end with folks even then wondering if there were any way to get a copy. > Unfortunately still no luck there. That's were creativity and passion on the part of the programmers comes in.

  16. I won't be home on Christmas Day. If I was, I'd watch some Universal Horrors, a Charlie Chan and maybe a low-budget 50s sci-fi.
  17. The discovery and broadcast of Universal's THE CAT CREEPS (1930) starring Helen Twelvetrees, Neil Hamilton, Lilyan Tashman and Jean Hersholt.
  18. I'm not sure I understand the question. But for me, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is THE silent film.
  19. The blackface bit was harmless but silly. 1945, people!

That's the kind of attitude that kept the Charlie Chans films suppressed.
  21. Bravo. The Una Merkel and William Seiter birthday fests were great.
