  1. W.C. Fields in MILLION DOLLAR LEGS, TILLIE AND GUS, MRS. WIGGS OF THE CABBAGE PATCH, SIX OF A KIND, MISSISSIPPI, etc.
  2. What is happening? Are there negotiations? When will we see titles like UP FOR MURDER, AFRAID TO TALK, SCANDAL FOR SALE, THE CROSBY CASE, HALF A SINNER, GIFT OF GAB, NIGHT LIFE OF THE GODS, the Crime Club series, ZANZIBAR, DRUMS OF THE CONGO, FLESH AND FANTASY, GYPSY WILDCAT and LADIES COURAGEOUS on TCM? Same goes for Paramount pre-Codes. Why aren't more people talking abouth this?
  3. > {quote:title=calvinnme wrote:}{quote}Thanks for the input guys. I'm working on the schedule now. I have to travel soon, but I'll get as much done as I can. I can tell you that Spencer Tracy is star of the month in October and his night is Mondays. Totally unimpressed...unless they show his early Fox Films - which of course they won't.
  4. > {quote:title=Swithin wrote:}{quote}I'm waiting for The Creeper (1948); and The Fall of the House of Usher (1949 version by Ivan Barnett -- my favorite version of the Poe story). Also a series of Mexican horror including Black Pit of Dr. M. (the dubbed version) and The Brainiac (one of the craziest movies ever made). How about THINGS HAPPEN AT NIGHT (1948) a British comedy and probably the first film to feature a poltergeist?
  5. Oh the anticipation. Please don't let it suck.
  6. 1939 is overhyped. Gimme a pre-Code year like 1932 or 1933 (and THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD was released in 1938).
  7. > {quote:title=johnbabe wrote:}{quote}did anyone bother to watch this B picture on saturday night past? i started to watch it because it looked cute and something to check out for the first time - well, i never saw such a flagrant poke at an actress at another studio than this piece of nonsense - lombard was supposed to be a Swedish princess (get who i mean?) she was really pouring on the "accent" and really making fun of someone we all know of - this was a Paramount B vehicle - and then to add insult to injury - they actually used the Divine One's born surname as the person who was supposed to be from the Swedish consulate - I do not have to name the actress who was being made a joke of - but I was surprised to see that this kind of nonsense actually went on in Hollywood - it obviously was jealousy - anyhow, TCM had a full evening of B pics this past saturday night - i hope they back on the track again - thank you very much! Sorry johnbabe, this was NOT a B-pic. We know you love Garbo. Chill out.
  8. > {quote:title=TCMfan23 wrote:}{quote}'You Better Watch Out' - about that crazy guy in the santa claus outfit, flying away in a truck. Completely disagree.
  9. I don't know about the worst film, but the worst programming decision was TCM showing Jacques Cousteau television specials.
  10. I watched a soap back in the 70s called ANOTHER WORLD. Twins Michael & Marianne Randolph grew into adults, but their parents, John & Pat Randolph, never aged. Jamie Frame grew up too, but his mother, Rachel, never aged. Same with Dennis Carrington. He became an adult, but his mother Iris never aged.
  11. > {quote:title=cody1949 wrote:}{quote}Did anyone notice future star Alan Ladd in Chapter 3? Chapter 3 featured Alan Ladd, Anne Gwynne and Ann Doran...all unbilled.
  12. > {quote:title=HomesoulM wrote:}{quote}I see some of those films on either Antenna TV or MeTV. TCM is much different than those networks because of no commericial interruption. I hope they will be back on TCM soon. They haven't been seen on TCM. I doubt if they've turned up elsewhere on the tube.

Prior to that time quite a few of the Columbia films from the 30's aired on TCM. Are you certain of that? 1930s Columbias were being shown this spring (THE MAN WITH TWO LIVES, IT HAPPENED IN HOLLYWOOD).

Bumping this up (it's been a year).
  15. Won't be long before we know how good - or bad - the October schedule will be.
  16. ZANZIBAR and DRUMS OF THE CONGO would make a neat double feature.
  17. When will we see RETURN OF THE TERROR (FN, 1934) on TCM?
  18. How about Bela Lugosi as SOTM in October?
  19. And maybe restored versions of THE LAST WARNING (Univ., 1929) and SEVEN FOOTPRINTS TO SATAN (FN, 1929).
