Not the greatest selection. But at least it's a start.

This was a Facebook phenomenon. I joined the group because she's a funny lady...with or without a script. Bravo to the person who started it.

I have little or no patience for people who feel the need to censor or suppress history in order to placate individuals or groups who might get their feelings hurt because they cannot view a film in the context in which it was made. Offended by Buckwheat, Stymie, Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto? Get over yourself. It's 2010 not 1938 and nobody wants to hear your whining.

True, but I was surprised to see them represented at all.

Loose lips sink ships, honey bun.

I'm a big Helen Twelvetrees fan. Her films turned up more regularly on AMC than they do on TCM. I'm hoping a print of the long-misplaced THE CAT CREEPS turns up.

I'm happy you found that site. Now you can check these rumors before repeating them.

Will Smith will be playing all the lead parts.

Yes, and giant alligators dwell in the sewers of New York City. Nearly all B&W films disappeared from television during that time and racism had nothing to do with it. B&W films were deemed outdated and uninteresting to the youth culture that everyone likes to cater to (certain "episodes" were eliminated from television back in the 1960s to placate the NAACP, et al...Amos'n Andy was withdrawn altogether circa 1966).

Well said. And never mind that Ronald Reagan was probably exhibiting signs of Alzheimer's before his second term expired. What ailed Caligula?

There was more to Paramount than Hope & Crosby, Betty Hutton and Veronica Lake. A lot more.

Universal made a ton of Bs that are buried away in vaults...Evelyn Ankers, Anne Gwynne, Anne Nagel, Elyse Knox, Constance Moore, Patric Knowles, Kent Taylor, Robert Paige, Dick Foran, William Gargan, et al. Hell, even Constance Bennett (MADAME SPY and SIN TOWN). Bring Universal Bs to TCM!

I'm a fan of all Carl Laemmle-era talkies because they are rare.

Yes, I know that. I was trying to make a point.

Make sure you adjust your clocks. 3/15 is George Brent Day.

Anyone notice that Lionel Atwill narrates the trailer for I AM A FUGITIVE FROM A CHAIN GANG?!

In New York City, the East Side Kids played on channel 11 and the Bowery Boys played on channel 5.

The problem lasted for about four minutes, beginning about 53 minutes in. Happily we didn't miss any Sydney Greenstreet!

Did you miss BLUE VELVET?

Proposal would put Ronald Reagan's face on the $50 bill

He was no Ross Alexander.
