It was part of Victor Jory's birthday tribute. Ya gotta love Victor Jory.
-
I enjoyed it. It played like a condensed serial.

What studios had a number of contract players in 1970?

You're right about MY WOMAN. And THE SILENT WITNESS should be THE SECRET WITNESS. My bad.
-
I gotta mention the Universal leading men too...Kent Taylor, Dick Foran, Robert Paige, Patric Knowles, Turhan Bey, David Bruce, et al.

I watched ANOTHER WORLD as a kid. It was famous at the time for the Alice-Steve-Rachel triangle.

Just from a practical standpoint, his other Movie Guide has about reach it's maximum size and in order to keep updating it with new films each year, he has to move older titles to the Classic Movie Guide to make room. I believe his choice of 1960 was more of an arbitrary cutoff point then a statement on the age of classics.
1960 somewhat coincides with the demise of the studio system. That works for me.

I like Conway more than Sanders.

Leonard Maltin's Classic Movie Guide ends with 1960.

John Waters' FEMALE TROUBLE has a great Christmas sequence in the beginning of the film.

Some of us are not huge Christmas fans (Halloween is my favorite holiday). Crass commercialism and faux sentimentality are not my thing. However, Alistair Sims' A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a classic, sorely missed on TCM. I'm sure they would show it if they could. The 1938 MGM version is quite enjoyable, though. Christmas queens should buy their favorites on DVD.
I'm sure they are all available.
I love the Rathbone-Bruce Sherlock Holmes series. In fact, I bought the entire set on DVD several years ago.
Another "must" is THE AVENGERS' "Too Many Christmas Trees" episode.I bought the Diana Rigg set several years ago too!

1911 is also the year Lucille Ball, Ronald Reagan and Patric Knowles were born.
-
I think Bela gets more screen time than the other two. He certainly has the most interesting part!

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN...still don't want any post-1970 movies on TCM, except maybe some cult/exploitation flicks on TCM Underground.
-
Lugosi fans don't take no for an answer.
-
Every title in this set is fun...Market Street, included.
-
Nice to see a Fox "B" on TCM.
-
YOU'LL FIND OUT is way underrated. I'm a big fan.
-
I'm a strong advocate for getting Universal Bs on TCM!

THE OTHERS and MULHOLLAND DRIVE

One word to describe Evelyn Ankers' films...FUN!

THE FALCON IN MEXICO had an interesting plot. And I loved the mask he wore near the end of the film.
