THE WOMAN I STOLE (Columbia, 1933) should show up on TCM.
-
Kay made a great TCM Star of the Month...I wouldn't mind if they so-honored her again!
-
Don't forget Sir Guy Standing.
-
I suggest a Robert Newton Day.

Gloria Stuart was definitely not as big a name in 1933 as Leigh was in 1960. In fact, when she made this film, Gloria had been in pictures less than a year. She was never a big name, but I suspect Universal promoted her as such because they didn't have many stars during the Laemmle era like the other studios. They threw her into many B-movies during 1933-34. She later wound up at Fox supporting Shirley Temple and the Ritz Brothers. She is best remembered by genre fans for other James Whale titles, THE OLD DARK HOUSE and THE INVISIBLE MAN. But a star she was not (as much as I like her).

Looks like Henry Stephenson

Good grief. If it's not al Queda it's the Taliban. If it's not the Taliban it's the stock market. If it's not the stock market it's swine flu. Stop watching so much news. Watch TCM instead.

Robert Osborne comparing Gloria Stuart's early demise to that of Janet Leigh in PSYCHO was a bit of a stretch, to say the least.
Still, an interesting film from an interesting director.

How do we get TCM program managers to re-schedule them for the daytime hours? There are lots of times I would love to see some of the movies they show on the 'midnight' shift. > Thank you
Might I suggest a recording device?

Love that Helen Twelvetrees poster.

You can keep Tracy & Hepburn. I'll take Betty Compson & Wheeler Oakman!

It doesn't get "pre-Codier" than CALL HER SAVAGE. Love it!

The first Mae West film I ever saw was BELLE OF THE NINETIES. I was no more than 10 and became an instant fan.
-
Chester Morris and Carole Lombard in THE GAY BRIDE (1934)
Chester Morris and Jean Arthur in PUBLIC HERO NO. 1 (1935)
-
THE OTHERS, MULHOLLAND DRIVE and BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.
-
So you're the love child of Eddie Acuff and Marjorie Main?
-
July's schedule certainly is great...please, no schedule changes in July!

Love the pics...the toxic personality, not so much.

I hope they get a day in August.

A mostly Latin cast?! I don't think so. Fay Wray was beautiful, though. She and Hungarian-born Victor Varconi made an attractive couple...but those accents!
