I'm looking forward to watching THINGS TO COME.

Can the web administrator be far behind?

Glenn Strange - as Atlas the Monster - acting like Sach is a sight to behold!
-
Re the Columbia BATMAN serial......the villain was Japanese...Dr. Daka, played by J. Carrol Naish.
-
I enjoy the 4 Kharis films individually and don't stress over the inconsistencies.
-
Universal released hundreds of feature films during the 1930s. How many have you ever seen? How many are available for viewing? It's not just a rights issue. It's studios' disinterest too.

Would love to see MASTER MINDS (1949) after 20+ years.
-
Racist dialogue was removed from THE MASK OF FU MANCHU (MGM, 1932) and BATMAN (Col., 1943).
-
New York's Film Forum just had a fantastic depression-era film fest...AND, Universal & Paramount titles were featured too!

I don't know if these posts are for real or not. However, I consider censorship and suppression of history to be serious enough to merit discussion. These types of individuals are responsible for the disappearance of Charlie Chan, Speedy Gonzales, Amos & Andy, et al from pop culture. I'm glad to own all the Chans on DVD, and I'm glad to have a DVD of SHOW BOAT because you never know if these and other relics will disappear forever to appease some special interest group.

Perhaps they'll call for an embargo of Adam Sandler's body of work.

Too much complaining about these great sets. I'd rather watch FRISCO JENNY than Garbo or Crawford. I hope future editions include Ruth Chatterton, Richard Barthelmess, Dorothy Mackaill and Glenda Farrell.

The crazies have spoken...no FRONT PAGE; no SHOW BOAT; no John Landis...
-
Bugs Bunny is #1...but all the Looney Tunes/Merrie Meoldies characters are leagues ahead of any others (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Tom & Jerry, et al).
-
Definitely one of the best theme evenings in quite some time.
-
Gale Sondergaard!

Maybe Sylvia Browne could tell us what he would say.

It would be nice to see the uncut MATA HARI if it exists. However, Warner Bros. was leagues ahead of MGM when it came to pre-Code grittiness.

Nat Pendleton, Harold Huber, Ralf Harolde, Edward Van Sloan, Dwight Frye, Maude Eburne, Lucille LaVerne. I consider Claude Rains, Peter Lorre, Lionel Atwill and George Zucco to be stars in their own right.
-
We need to see these on TCM: THE GOOD BAD GIRL; THE GUILTY GENERATION; THE SECRET WITNESS; ATTORNEY FOR THE DEFENSE; THE BIG TIMER; BY WHOSE HAND?; DECEPTION; THE FINAL EDITION; THE NIGHT CLUB LADY; THREE WISE GIRLS; AIR HOSTESS; ANN CARVER'S PROFESSION; THE CIRCUS QUEEN MURDER; COCKTAIL HOUR; FOG; MASTER OF MEN; MY WOMAN; PAROLE GIRL; SO THIS IS AFRICA; THE WOMAN I STOLE; BLACK MOON; THE DEFENSE RESTS; MILLS OF THE GODS; THE NINTH GUEST; WHIRLPOOL; WHITE LIES; CARNIVAL; ALIBI FOR MURDER; THE MAN WHO LIVED TWICE; MEET NERO WOLFE.
-
I don't know anything about the script, but I suspect it's not a remake. And nothing could ever outclass Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Claude Rains, Evelyn Ankers, Patric Knowles, Ralph Bellamy, Jack Pierce, Hans J. Salter, et al.

HEAT LIGHTNING is the ultimate Aline MacMahon experience.

I love FRISCO JENNY. HEROES FOR SALE is also quite good, but very downbeat.

Too bad. I have a hankering to see BUREAU OF MISSING PERSONS.
