I am also a fan and feel that she was too hasty in calling it quits when she did. I am certain that she would have eventually wound up at MGM or FOX and would have had an excellant future there in their great musicals of the 50s. A side question, I own all of her films that were released on VHS by UNIVERSAL. Were there any more of her films that Universal never released on VHS or DVD?

How about the kinds of films that use to show up in the mid 80s on USA's COMMANDER USA's GROOVIE MOVIES and other local channels' weekly Horror programs in the 70s and 80s like New York's FRIGHT NIGHT, CHILLER THEATRE, and CREATURE FEATURES, for example: 1. MEXICAN HORROR FILMS - ANY AND ALL OF THEM 2. ITALIAN VAMPIRE MOVIES a. PLAYGIRLS AND THE VAMPIRE b. SLAUGHTER OF THE VAMPIRES c. THE VAMPIRE AND THE BALLERINA 3. DUNGEON OF HARROW 4. LEMORA LADY DRACULA 5. THE WITCH 6. CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS 7. THE CHILDREN 8. DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT 9. THE VIDEO DEAD 10. THE UNDEAD THERE'S MORE THEN ENOUGH STUFF TO KEEP TCM UNDERGROUND GOING STRONG FOR YEARS.

I'm a little confused about TCM Underground. What kind of movies would classify as a TCM Underground programmer? Horror, Cult, Camp, Just plain bad, Sexploitation, Blaxploitation, Sword and Sandal, Comedies, Silents, or all of the above and more???

I would like to see a restored, pristine clear copy of GLORIFYING THE AMERICAN GIRL turn up on TCM and later on a pressed DVD. It is a classic 1929 musical film that was produced by Florenz Ziegfeld that highlights Ziegfeld Follies performers. It would make an excellant double feature with 1929's BROADWAY MELODY. What do you think?

I suppose anything George Raft is better then nothing George Raft, but seriously, four measly movies? Why not a whole day of George Raft films? Where is RACE STREET, JOHNNY ALLEGRO, OUTPOST IN MORACO, to name a few. Then there are the WARNER TEAM-UP films, the UNIVERSALS, and his PARAMOUNTS to choose from. George keeps getting the short end of the Raft, or stick, so it seems.

This is just a general question and I don't want to mention specific people, but do all the Guest Hosts know what they are talking about or is it just another gig for them and they are speaking from scripts prepared by the TCM staff? It does seem, at times, that some of the people chosen to be guest hosts are definitely rehersed, and possibly are not as well versed with the films they have chosen as we are led to believe. Maybe it's just my Cynical nature, but I wanted to know if anyone else feels the same way I do.

Anyone know if the above silents were ever shown on TCM and more importantly, if not, why they are being ignored? They seem, to me, the perfect Halloween type fare right up there with CHANEY'S PHANTOM and HUNCHBACK.

I like your idea about a TCM2. I always hoped that they would use just such a channel to showcase International films. However, my reason is selfish. I am not a big fan of International films, feel that they don't belong on TCM proper, and would welcome an additional TCM channel if only for the reason of freeing up programming time on TCM1 for more classic OLD Hollywood films. Frankly, as long as we're on the subject, I would like TCM to STOP SHOWING SO MANY RECENT MOVIES. There are other TURNER channels to accomodate these recent films and they are TBS and TNT. We don't need to pollute TCM with movies from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond. Maybe if TCM freed up the programming time that they use for International films and newer films they could give us more CLASSIC OLD HOLLYWOOD MOVIES which is why we come here to begin with.
