Speaking of Tatum O'Neal.....she won the oscar then crahed and burned,Cher also comes to mind,at least as far as her acting.
Then there's Sandy Dennis,Deborah Raffin,Rachel Ward,Bryan Brown........and the list goes on.

To all of my fellow posters:
To think that I used to come to this thread to 'shoot the breeze'. This used to be a place/thread where anyone could come for some feel good 'light' conversation which always included a common rapport talking about Hedy and a little bit of everything or nothing.
That was the beauty of this thread.I'm appalled to see, that after a few days away from the same,it has turned into another "If you can't say something nice" thread which everyone turned into a battleground.
I just spent a wasted 20 minutes reading the senseless, argumentative bs that has been posted in my absence.I just can't believe it! Who has time for this?If you have an excess of time don't you think it could better be employed for anything on a positve level?
To top things off, this was all done on GARBOMANIAC'S thread,a person who has only posted intelligent, informative, witty and thoughtful posts on this thread and any other thread. To me it's the same as going into someone's house uninvited and raising havoc.
I hope that you all come to your senses. We all should have a common respect for one another, first of all just for being human beings, regardless of what we've been through or have yet to go through.
It's like any other social exchange in any other setting, there have to be rules of behavior applied. There has to be a common courtesy and exchange between all participants
Until this is done, this forum is meaningless and not worth the time and effort.
It makes me wonder if I would ever want to be a part of this anymore.......

Hello Ann!
I wholeheartedly agree with what you say about Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorcese. They are bound for immortality.
I used to have a 'crush' on Pacino back in his Serpico days, whew! the beard and moustache, the long hair, even though he is short he always stands tall with me.
He is one of THE most talented actors in the last thirty years and he should own at least two more golden statuettes.
Robert DeNiro comes in a close second, any role he's given is magical,he captivates.

You're right!! The song,"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"; was sung by both The Beatles and Elton John.My friends always say that song is about me.
At any rate,I think that Hedy's eyes are blue-green.How about you?
What's with the caricature?'She' looks like the lady on the Bullwinkle cartoon, what is her name? LOL!!!!!
-
I agree that Richard Widmark was a very good and consistent actor.
I never found him to be overly handsome but I always appreciated his skill and technique. He had a unique voice as well.
-
You said it all and quite nicely I might add.
-
If you look really closely at the last picture her eyes almost look blue-grey but they could be like mine,at first instance they look blue but up close they are green.Well, actually they're kind of strange ,they have the outer line dk. blue then light green then the center are somewhat yellow/hazel.She could also have 'kaleidoscope eyes' . Ha!

Now that we're on the subject of S.Sarandon, wasn't she originally married to Chris Sarandon in the 70's?
I always liked him as an actor and thought that he would do more.Do you know anything about him?
-
If you like Dana Delaney, Lynn Whitfield, etc. I'm almost sure that you would like Angela Bassett&Alfre Woodward.Meryl Streep is 57 and she has always fascinated me in each and every movie.
Another older actress who is great and older is Susan Sarandon.Men over 50 who are great are; Dennis Quaid,Bruce Willis,Tom Hanks is great and he just turned 50.I still happen to like Kevin Costner,he's my sentimental favorite.
-
Hello all, I figrured her eyes to be green.

In answer to your comment about what 'stars' get paid, what about what athletes get paid?

John Barry is very good for the ones you mentioned and others.
Other good ones are,Marvin Hamlisch,John Williams,Enrico Morricone,Henry Mancini (who doesn't love "Moonriver?), Burt Bacharach, I know there are more.
I'll come back later, I can't remember right now.

Brad
I agree with you about "Titanic",I found it to be very sad and accurate as far as the events that lead to its demise.
On the same note,I also liked "A Night to Remember",both are very good movies.
There is a third, made for TV version,I believe with Catherine Zeta-Jones from a few years back.It is also a good movie.
I would like to also mention another sad movie, "AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER",although this movie ended on a happy note, most of the time it leaves you desperate for Cary and Deborah and their situation.
-
I just thought of another movie that drives you to tears,"Steel Magnolias".

Hello SusannO!
I agree with you about "City of Angels",that is another example of a love unfullfilled.
I also agree with you about the other movies you mentioned, a lot of the Disney movies are so traumatic.Aside from the ones you mentioned there is also "Lion King", when the father dies the whole movie does a 360.

Hello Anne!
I would like to eventually post something on this thread but not now,it's too heavy a topic for this hour of the night.I was hoping for something lighter.
I just wanted to say hello.

About the pics, what's taking you so long?
What are you going to do for your B'day?anything special?
-
I did not know that about the Grand Marshall stint.
I love St.Paddy's day celebrations!!green beer,irish jig,corned beef and cabbage......yummy!
-
First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.....
Second of all,why is this thread at the bottom?Hedy is too fine a lady to be in such a position.
Only tops for her, besides Garbomaniac would definitely NOT approve and if he doesn't approve neither do I.

Hello Susan,
Nice to see you on here again! As I was mentioning to Ken on a previous thread, that I purchased her book about 2 yrs. ago and have not had a chance to read it.
Maureen has always seemed to have good business savvy. That along with her no nonsense way of being are some of her more attractive character traits, wouldn't you agree?
I didn't realize that she had been on Larry King, was this recently?
-
Well hello Garbomaniac!!
Hello TCM friends! Long time no 'read' Ha!
Something told me to stick my head in here,,just in time, the pictures are really good, thanks for keeping my thread going while I'm away.

Hello inglis!
The 70's show that Angie Dickinson was in was,"Policewoman",with Earl Holliman.
I used to watch it as well.I wonder why it's not in sindication.
I saw Angie in a movie last year but I can't remember which one.
