  1. With blonde hair she would look too washed up and black would overpower her.Brown, like a medium color might have looked nice, but red made her shine so brightly. Why mess with perfection. (sorry Garbomaniac!).
  2. When I say color I'm referring to hair color,of course,Where is my mind tonight?
  3. We could always get back to the SUBJECT;Maureen.I have a question for you,Can you imagine her in any other color? I can't.
  4. What about Ruth Gordon and Brett Somers?
  5. I think it has to do with the way they carry themselves and, like you said, their voices are somewhat similar.
  6. You know, I love the fact that you take the time to get us up to date, you spoil us path40a,thanks! I really, really want to see 7 brides/7 brothers,I've never seen the whole movie .I am also definitely interested in both Kate Hepburn and Rock Hudson.
  7. All pro-Iraq war freaks need to take the last train out.Maybe they should be sent to Iraq and see what chaos they have caused, all while sitting in designer suits behind $2,000 desks in air conditioned rooms.I have other 'fantasies' about how they can be dealt with but they're too graphic for this forum.
  8. correction:triplet,no, I'm not drinking!
  9. I have a tiplet situation:Sarah Jessica Parker,Jennifer Aniston and Catherine Keener.
  10. It is VERY slow indeed and I wasn't made for slow.At the risk of sounding ignorant or uninformed what do you mean about election news and CT?
  11. I love that they will show William Holden, not ot mention, the Dick Cavett interviews and that October will bring the emphasis on child stars, seems like that September and October will be well rounded. Can't wait.
  12. Like we said, sooner or later......................LOL!!! Please do not exceed his dosage for fear of overdose.
  13. I know what you mean.In "High Sierra",the scene where Bogie is seeing Ida Lupino off to the bus,he puts the little 'mutt',Pod, into a wicker basket so Ida can take him with her on the bus, suddenly she boards the bus empty handed, when they show Bogie getting into his car there is no dog,no basket and the bus has left.WHAT HAPPENED ITH THE DOG?
  14. Lizabeth Scott and Ella Raines Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh
  15. Hello all! TMN,are you already starting to act up so early?
  16. I think that a lot of the makeup artists grew accustomed to putting a little extra makeup on the 'stars' back in the black and white period so it would show more on screen and just kept doing it that way for a while. To me the 40's were more elegant than the 50's.In the 40's the hair was longer, more feminine, elegant.By the 50's women were experimenting with shorter less attractive styles, depending on the 'artist'.The 40's makeup seemed more to acentuate the best quality of the given artist,in the 50's they gobbed it on anywhere and everywhere, too many colors were used and not enough neutrals, even the clothes styles were better in the 40's.
  17. I have been told just that but haven't had the chance.I love Ginger though.
  18. I don't know where to start: I loved both of the movies we 'spoke' about.Especially" Moulin",I found it so creative, colorful, and just plain brilliant,I actually wanted Nicole to win that year but they made up for it in "The Hours". Then Chicago came out and I found it another winner.I thought it might be the beginning of more great musicals, since then we've only had "The Producers" and I have yet to see it but I know it must be great.
  19. Hi LuckyDan,seems you worked your way up to us,great contributions.I have another contribution,it's not proven it's her voice but Susan Sarandon.Every time I see the Stouffer's commercial,I think it's lasagna,I always say it must be her voice.
  20. How could I not have thought of Rod Serling from "The Twilight Zone"?That's one of the best recent answers.I have another one filmlover, what about John Cleese?
  21. That is a Howard Hughes movie,a Howard Hughes obssession and a Howard Hughes lover. We're not talking about cowboys TMN,we're talking about the mafia. You do like to change up the threads now, don't you?
  22. There have been outlaws from every nationality,an outlaw is an outlaw,is an outlaw.
