  1. I agree with you Larry, not only was the moment right for Judy to win,her performance was better than Grace's.Grace, though beautiful, did not have the same dominance of the screen as did Judy.
  2. I did not know that there was a version pre the Deborah Kerr/Yul Brynner(did I spell it right?) version,I did, however, buy the Jodie Foster/Chow Yun Fat (spelling?) version because I really like their take on it,besides Chow is extremely handsome in that movie.
  3. You must give me the inside scoop on this letter exchanging between you and Claire.
  4. I think I figured out who Claire Trevor reminds me of, in the picture on the left she reminds me of Mercedes Ruehl, I know you probably think it's a long shot because Mercedes is dark skinned and haired but I see a resemblance.Mercedes was great in "Lost in Yonkers", did you happen to see that movie?
  5. There you go guys, two for the price of one!
  6. Hello Ken, I bought that book a couple of years back and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read it yet.Maureen would have been great in that film,I can see her now........
  7. In the bottom picture you can definitely see the eye color, and that was before contacts,I guess. Her hair is somewhat darker in these two pics, though I'm not sure if it is the lighting or what.
  8. Hey Garbomaniac, don't let TMN see this picture, you don't want to rouse or 'arouse' him with the likes of it! LOL!!
  9. I can't help thinking that she reminds me of somebody...........it bothers me that I can't pinpoint it.
  10. Now Yvonne DeCarlo, she was very pretty, she had a mysterious air about her.Hey Ken, she also had great legs, did you happen to notice?LOL!
  11. Maureen O'Hara,Rosanno Brazzi,Louis Jordan,Omar Sharif (gorgeous!!!!),Deborah Kerr,Greer Garson,Geraldine Fitzgerald,James Mason.
  12. Seems like I only saw Claire in westerns, she was a good actress, pretty, not a Garbo or an O'Hara but pretty still the same.
  13. Nicole, as Tom and many other 'stars' have always been fiercely private about their personal lives.Nicole isn't going to say, "Yeah I want kids but my hubby here can't give me any".As it is the reporters invent so many lies and leave a lot to speculation. In my opinion Nicole has always carried herself in a gracious, courteous and polite manner.I have often thought that more famous people or just 'people' in general should be like her.As far as your first comment I am like you, I hate the news because it's always 'bad' news.If it's good news we never hear it,a lot of people have a need to feed on sensationalism, I'm not one.I do not waste my time with ANYTHING negative. We should all be using every bit of our energy toward everything positive, with ourselves and the world as a whole.
  14. The "Moulin Rouge" you're speaking of is the Nicole Kidman one? "Chicago" is the last one with Catherine Zeta-Jones/Richard Gere?
  15. I guess that you are a true leg man Ken.
  16. I happened to see a couple of the Miss Marple movies when I was a little girl and I remember I enjoyed them although I can't give you titles or scenarios but they would most definitely fit in nicely into the program of our 'mystery' night.
  17. I hate to admit it but I am not familiar with either Reed Hadley or Truman Bradley. As far as Bradley goes, I wasn't around in the 50's.Well, that's not a good excuse because I know about movies from the 30's,40's,etc. and I wasn't around then either.I think it might be because I'm not a sci-fi person and neither were my older brothers(I'm the baby). They pretty much dominated the ONE TV set we had,you know how it was back in the 60's most people had only one TV set.As it was I was forced to watch "Star Trek" ,that was torture for me.
  18. LOL!!!! Tell me about it, I was reading and didn't even know how to even post anything. After all, everyone was on THAT thread at THAT moment, how awkward was that, what a naughty boy you were that night ,TMN!! HA! HA!I just kept checking around and don't think I posted anything then.
  19. I just recently became familiarized with Frank McHugh on the recently shown "'Til We Meet Again", and "One Way Passage",and I agree that his voice (along with his face) are distinctive.
  20. I agree with Lucille Ball,Red Skelton, and of course,William Conrad, didn't he even do a few commercials back in the 70's? Lucy had that husky voice, her chain smoking seemed to only make it more so.
  21. I hope that you don't think me to be over-reacting but if we don't 'nip in in the bud' so to speak more people can be offended besides ourselves. There are ways of expressing our views without attacking anyone.
  22. Hey Montgomery did you check out out how Ken and I took care of that other thread, you know, the 'gay' one?We gave 'em what they deserved, that'll teach 'em!You are very creative,I happen to love a good poem,I've written many in my day.
  23. What I think that you missed happened about 4-5 years ago, somewhere around the time Tom and Nicole split up, a man was trying to blackmail Tom by saying he had an affair with him, etc.it was in all the newspapers and on TV,as everything is ,but I think it was found to be a bunch of lies, maybe someone knows more about the outcome of it.As far as Nicole goes, it was Tom who couldn't father a child and still can't,at least not the normal way. This is the only reason Nicole never had a biological child with him,Mimi as well. Now Nicole took advantage of love and maybe her dreams of motherhood can finally come true .I have no idea how baby Suri was conceived but it is none of my business, this conversation is starting to fall under gossip and I hate gossip,,just figured I would answer your question.
  24. I applaud your honesty and the way you defend your beliefs, I totally AGREE that there is no room for prejudice in any form or facet in life or on this thread or forum, I pretty much spoke my mind last night but I knew things would heat up on here overnight. You're gay, you're proud of it,if anybody doesn't like it they can post elsewhere as far as I'm concerned.
  25. I guess that it's safe to say that Hedy was the complete package.
