  1. It's been a while since anything came up on this thread,I wanted to mention the voices of Thelma Ritter&Dick Van Dyke their voices are distinctive and even with your eyes closed you can tell whose voice it is.
  2. Hello Ken!....could it be because her legs are everywhere?Where did she get those? She always seems to be so covered up.
  3. That's a snazzy little prose you have there montgomery, and all for Garbo maniac, how sweet.Got one for Maureen?
  4. I think it only proper to start my posting day on this thread, this is the one where things are always happening.......even though I prefer Maureen O'Hara, oops! (hope GB isn't around)shhhh.
  5. At any rate,I'm enjoying it as well, but we sure did get off of the topic, didn't we?
  6. Well, thanks Ken,Could it have anything to do with the fact that I'm the only person on right now?Ha!
  7. We can't always agree, how boring that would be? You have a right to your opinion.
  8. Somehow Ken,I'm sure you'll take the lady whether it be Bennett or O'Hara or Lake, when it comes down to it I'm sure the hair color hasn't much to do with it,right?Gee,guess we're the 'Lone Rangers' out again tonight.
  9. When I first signed up on the forum,I posted a thread on the actor/actress behind the voice and I always said that Lauren has a great, distinguished, intellectual type of voice which you can tell even with your eyes closed. She was a sight for sore eyes, tall, sultry, intelligent, she must have driven Bogart crazy!
  10. I guess he (Howard Hawks) had a thing for blondes,(who doesn't)?
  11. I like just about anything Hitchkock.I also like "The Maltese Falcon" and "Double Indemnity", How about you?
  12. Now that you mentioned them, Christie and Stanwyck, perfect.I did see "Wrong Number"thought it was good. How about if I add; Hitchkock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much", also his, "Dial M For Murder"? these came to mind when I read yours.
  13. I think that any actress or actor who has the ability to make us laugh is greatly needed.I miss the old slapstick, the humor now is so dark and black and double meaning.
  14. I love all the movies you mentioned. As far as "The Cheap Detective", I love all of the Neil Simon movies.
  15. My take on this Ella Raines gal is that she looks somewhat like both Lauren Bacall and Veronica Lake,a nice cross between them.I have not only NOT seen her films, I had never even heard of her before.
  16. Yet another thing we have in common,Ken.
  17. Hey Ken, give us a couple of other movie titles that we could include.
  18. My thoughts exactly, I had mentioned such just a little earlier on another thread.Charlie Chan and Sherlock Holmes would be great and any other detective type movie....can't think of a title now but will get back with one.The point is mystery/detective movies would be great for Friday or Saturday nights, especially in the fall when it's cool out and when hot chocolate can accompany them. How does that sound?
  19. Here! Here! Ken I couldn't have said it better.I'm sick and tired of gay people getting the raw end of the deal. What we have to focus on is that gay people ARE HUMAN BEINGS,plain and simple.like you say, LET GOD JUDGE AND DECIDE.Get real people!!
  20. I think that it is important to remember that we should only judge actors for their portrayals.I don't think it is fair to judge a person for their sexual preference or their material possesions, skin color, nationality, religion or sex.A true christian would look into a person's heart and see all the positive there is to behold.Rock Hudson was gay in real life and straight in 'reel' life.Who would have ever suspected?
  21. I can always count on you to provide us with some great pictures. My favorite is the one with Fairbanks from,SINBAD THE SAILOR.I have never seen that movie but I guess I should put it on my TO SEE LIST.
  22. Hey Garboman, can you pull an Ella picture out of your magical hat? I'm afraid I don't know who she is.
  23. I couldn't have said it better! Ma & Pa,Blondie,Laurel and Hardy,W.C.and to top it off, Abbot and Costello......that would definitely be a perfect lineup. We should also have a Sunday dedicated to Charlie Chan.
