  1. Hello feaito......about 'Moulin rouge',I thought it to be a brilliant work of art. I have both the movie/soundtrack.

It was nominated for best movie that yr. and so was Nicole Kidmman but lost out.I say that was a big mistake. What were they thinking?

I'm glad you liked and appreciated it.

I wish I had a movie review for you but I've been too busy lately.....Did you ever see the Banderas movie I mentioned last time?

  2. Good morning Anne!

I really like 'Sense and Sensibility',but I like all of the movies based on books by Jane Austen.

The cast really is a 'who's who' of top british actors.Emma Thompson is top notch in this performance. She was well cast in this tug of war between love and social class(typical of an Austen novel).

I recommend it to those who like good 'light' romance movies but not for the guys who like a lot of action and intrigue.

  3. Brad:

Hello, there have been two versions of Lolita that I know of.

The James Mason/Shelley Winters version and a version in the early 90's with Jeremy Irons.

Maybe someone can clarify if there were more versions or not.

  4. Yes,I live on the western end of the island, about 25 minutes from some great beaches.

When I say beaches I mean famous surfing beaches, people come to the island from all over the world for the same.

Speaknig of nice and quiet, when I go to bed all I hear is an occasional frog, cricket,or cow (I live in between two dairy farms,so you can imagine).

  5. Fred:

Where you live sounds ideal to me because I'm not one for modern technology.

However,I do live in a remote country location atop a mountain where there is no cable service and phones have only been in use since maybe the past ten years.

Life is simple and to the point, you never hear a police siren and everyone lives with their doors wide open (no central air in any of the houses, only ceiling/stand fans).

I can't remember what it's like to be in a traffic jam or drive on a freeway. The main road is a two-lane highway which gets you where you're going.

Town consists of a town square whose main focus is the 400 yr. old catholic church, freshly renovated.

Maybe some people find it a strange way to live but I love it and don't want to imagine life any other way.

  6. Sounds like good things are to come in the new year........

Carrie Fisher has, since her 'Star Wars' days ,become an author and is always entertaining to watch in that type of format.

Jane Fonda, what can we say about her?she is an excellent actress with a wealth of experiences to share, not to mention the 'dynasty' from which she was born.

The guest programmers should prove to add a little variety and hopefully humor,we could all use that.

The 'IDOLS' sounds like a sure hit,I'll be the first one to tune in

And last but definitely not least the documentaries sound like another winner .

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TCM!

  7. You mentioned 'Unfinished Life' on another thread,I had mentioned that same movie on that thread a couple of months back.

I really liked that movie and felt like the casting was perfect, not to mention, the directing, etc.

Jennifer Lopez is a very good actress.
