  1. I know that Dolly is not much of an actress but she IS very entertaining and I always loved her xmas specials back in the 70's.

When did Smokey Mtn xmas come out?

and can you believe I've never seen the whol brides/bros. movie?

  2. I was thinking that I don't know if it was the last or second to the last because 'Zorro' did come out.

The one I'm talking about is 'Take The Lead' where he plays a ballroom dance instructor to a group of underprivileged high school kids.

Apparently it's based on a true story.Banderas is very impressive in this film,he brings an amazing passion for the dance and a typical latin hotness, sorry, but he's ever so sexy in this film.

He looks as though he were dancing for years,it suits him well. The soundtrack is amazing with hits from Nat King Cole,'Fascination' and Ella Fitzgerald, etc. etc.

  3. Well, like always that is such a sweet thing to say Snarfie....

I guess that you were away for a while to then.I ,to,hope that LuckyDan comes back.

He seemed like such a nice man and he contributed a lot to these threads.

SPEAKING OF THAT,WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ANNE LINDLEY/Mrsl?????

I've been wondering about her and have forgotten to ask, somebody please let me know.

  4. It's like evrything else GM, some will like it and some won't.

At least we all agree that Audrey was a beautiful and classy woman free of any scandal in her life.

That is the way she should be remembered, not leaping around on a TV commercial to an AC/DC song, come on!

  5. I associate Audrey with style and grace. She was a very private person and since that commercial came on I said that she wouldn't have liked it, I don't even like it,especially the song in the background.

I can't even remember if she did a commercial while she was alive, I'm sure someone will corroborate this with me.

It seems to me that she lent her persona solely for charitable purposes.

The Gap usually does some good commercials but I don't think that this one falls in that category.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more about Alex Rodriguez,what a jerk!

I think that it's pathetic about all of the hype about Torre. It's not fair.

But it all comes down to what I've always said, sports figures get paid way too much money.Torre is no exception.

It's all about money now, unfortunately.Do you think that Torre will resign or wait to be tossed out like trash?

I think he should leave with what little they've left of his dignity.

  7. Okay guys, I was trying not to put in my two cents worth but here goes...

The Yankees lived a lot of glory days and made a lot of stars especially in the days of Mantle, Maris,Dimaggio,Ruth, Gehrig, etc. which brings me to their important contribution to the history of the sport. For all of this they deserve respect.

While I am proudly a Yankee fan I do feel like it is time for another team to shine and I'm rooting for Detroit.

  8. I've seen the movie many, many times and never tire of it.

As far as Lana Turner, her beauty was never more apparent than in this movie. She had an amazing presence throughout the movie, especially in the scene that James mentioned where she was wearing a gorgeous jeweled necklace and her dress was turquoise, her makeup, hair and look as a whole exuded elegance and classic stardom.

On another note I had forgotten how handsome John Gavin was and Sandra Dee was adorably cute.
