  1. I hadn't gone back to page 2 and now know what you're talking about.

That picture is really pretty but looks touched up,they always did that in those days. They took a color closest to the persons own natural color and enhanced it.

Therefore,Garbo's eyes MUST have been green, sorry for you Ken!

    This Swede had GREEN eyes.

  2. Then you have a picture like this and you think it's the epitome of femeninity and grace and you want to see more like this as well,I'm confused.

BTW,I love this pic overall, this was a good hairstyle for her.Her makeup is subtle on the eyes and emphasizing her mouth.

Garbo had great bone structure, she could make any picture look amazing. What color were her eyes?

  3. I liked that story as well and when they showed that scene you could tell that there was something unusual going on with his face.

Jane Withers was very entertaining and is quite impressive both mentally and physically. She really has the gift of gab.

Margart O'Brien is still very pretty and her usual self, she is a more subdued type than Withers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the parts I managed to see of the interviews, kudos to TCM and Robert Osborne!

  4. All I can say aboutyour current situation is.....as Bette Davis stated in 'All About Eve',"fasten your seat belts it's going to be a bumpy ride!" and it will be at first, but.......

On the upside,I can't wait to be reading your posts when you rediscover your real you that you probrably lost somewhere along the way. She's there somewhere set her free!!

I always say that everything happens for a reason and if you try really hard enough you can find the positive in it all, that is the secret of life.Don't dwell on what you don't have yet appreciate what you have.Find the positive in everything, there always is one.

Your daughter is going to be fine as long as you are fine.Sounds like the two of you parted amicably and that is very important.Remember that no matter how mad you might be at him never let your daughter hear you say or do anything negative as far as he is concerned.

Once your daughter sees that she can have the 'best of both worlds' she will adapt just fine.Seeing you happier will do wonders for her as well.Think of it that way.

I'm pulling for you and am sure that you have the personality to pull through this and learn many a surprising thing from it.Keep a journal, get in touch with your every feeling,it will help you.

In the meantime we are all here for you.YOU GO GIRL!!!

  5. I absolutely love BOTH versions of 'Sabrina'.

The Hepburn/Bogart/Holden one being my favorite.I feel that each actor in that movie was perfect casting.

The Holden role is my favorite role of his along with his in'Love Is a Many Splendored Thing'.

Of Hepburn and Bogart, they had chemistry.Hepburn always made you believe she had chemistry with each of her co-stars.

Take Astaire for example,I never considered him to be a good male lead for 'Funny Face' but through viewing the movie she makes you believe it could be possible. That's the beauty of acting.

The best actor in the Harrison Ford version was by far Greg Kinnear.Harrison was up to par but that dreadful actress,(Julia Ormond?) was miscast.I suffered the whole movie seeing her when I kept thinking that 'someone, anyone' could have done a better job.

  6. Exactly, sometimes it takes roles just as these to make us realize an artist's range.

Like Liz Taylor in 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?',Nicole Kidman in 'The Hours',Charlize Theron in 'Monster',and the list goes on.

  7. Sorry GM, But I have to say the bad as well as the good...

I really don't like Garbo's hair in these last few pics,it takes away from her beauty.

She looks best in styles less fussy. She was a natural beauty and didn't need all of the makeup and hair styles they gave her.

I'm not saying that the pictures are bad ,just not some of her best.

  8. Hello Inglis! Long time no communicate.

Here is another of my takes on 'The Graduate'.......

I bought the soundtrack in a pawn shop in Houston about four years ago before moving back to the caribbean, and you know who confiscated it? My 21 year old daughter.

Like mother like daughter. We both like classic music as well as classic movies.

My point being, that the soundtrack will ever be remembered as a symbol of the times,it brings back gobs of memories and warm feelings.

All things aside we should at least acknowledge the great cast which took part in the movie, even if we didn't particularly like the movie itself.

P.S. Hello to Stoneyburke,Izcutter and all of you others I haven't 'spoken' to in a while.
