  1. "Getting to Know You" -- Welcome to Woop Woop (1997) -- utterly mad movie (in which you would never recognize Rod Taylor)! Next: Song from a pre-code non musical
  2. On Mrs. Brown's Boys, a rather lowbrow yet sometimes hilarious Irish/British series, one of Mrs. Brown's sons (Rory) left the series after a few seasons. He was replaced by another actor, but first they scripted plastic surgery for the departing character, which became an endless source of jokes. The old Rory was better.
  3. Gloria Blondell Next: Performed live on at least three continents
  4. It varies. I love the George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. Although Fred Clark, whom I like, was the original Harry Morton, I actually prefer Larry Keating, who replaced him. (Hal March played the role early on, but I don't remember seeing any of those episodes.)
  5. Chappaqua (1966) -- (I'm focusing on lesser known films that I actually saw in the '60s.)
  6. Ruth Chatterton Next: Played a cardinal (of any kind)
  7. Anna Lee was in The Last Hurrah with Jane Darwell.
  8. Here's a lobby card that does not include Karloff in the photo:
  9. I haven't seen Black Friday in decades and don't remember much about it, but I think Lugosi's role is more of a supporting nature. They were probably playing up his participation as a marketing device. But I just checked -- Black Friday is on my Bela Lugosi DVD, rather than on my Boris Karloff DVD.
  10. So sorry to hear this. I did not see that production but enjoy the recording and particularly that song.
  11. "Angel Baby" -- Crazy Love (1987) Next: Song in a 1937 movie
  12. On Svengoolie tomorrow, August 7, 2021:
  13. "The Wrong Note Rag" -- Rosalind Russell and Jacqueline McKeever in Wonderful Town (1958) Next: More Comden and Green
  14. "My Yiddishe Mama" -- Marry Me! Marry Me! (1968) (French title: Mazel Tov ou le mariage, directed by Claude Berri ) Next: Song mentioning something about law or lawyers
  15. I Remember Mama (1948) theme by Roy Webb. I love this beautiful, evocative theme, played over the credits and here and there in the film. It's unsung (in both senses). Although Roy Webb was nominated for seven Oscars, he was not nominated for I Remember Mama. Next: Another Roy Webb movie theme
  16. Nice, varied schedule, including a surprising variety of diverse horror!
