A while ago I watched a film about a young girl who could not walk properly and she wanted to swim. Without her family knowing she started to learn to swim. She started swimming in rivers and I think breaking records for the lengths she was swimming, ladies started to complain as she was showing off too much skin but she made herself a longer swimsuit that covered hew up completely and carried on to swim. Can anyone tell me what this film wsa called.It was in colour and think it was made in the 1950's.

When I was 12 in 1987 I watched a old black and white movie about a couple who lived in a mansion on a cliff edge, the main story line revolved around the lady who has appartions to 2 ghosts, one being her Fathers mistress and the other ghost was her mother. One ghost was protecting her and the other was trying to kill her. She found out that the mistress who was protecting her was her mother. The lady did try to commit suicide. We think was roughly made in 1930's or 1940's?? Would anyone know what this film was called and if it is available on DVD.
