  1. JOKES FROM GERMANY Knock, knock. Who's there? The police. I'm afraid there's been an accident. Your husband is in hospital. A man walks into a pub. He is an alcoholic whose drink problem is destroying his family. Did you hear about the blonde who jumped out off a bridge? She was clinically depressed and took her own life because of her terribly low self-esteem. What do you call a cat with no tail? A Manx cat. Why do undertakers wear ties? Because their profession is very serious, and it is important that their appearance has a degree of gravitas. How many electrici
  2. Where have the men that are men gone? Cary Grant, Marlon Brando, Clark Gable, Gregory Peck etc, wre men! Treated women like women and acted like men! Now we have sex symbols that spend longer in front of the mirror than I do! Is anything more of a turn off?
  3. It was the second time me and my friends all went to see Walk The Line! It had alredy been out for ages and it was about to come out on DVD, so there was no one there except us! We all love a laugh and because we all love Johnny Cash, we danced and sang all the way through the songs! It was so much fun! And we weren't bold by any means but we got pretty hyper! And I'll always remember it!
  4. That's weird cos I have it on DVD! But I live in Ireland so it's probably out here and not in America!
  5. Thank you so much operabuff!!! It was Jean Harlow! I saw it on a documentry on Howard Hughs! It's all coming back!
  6. From anything, really, mine are: Old: Tracy Lord from The Philadelphia Story Susan Vance from Bringing Up Baby Blanche du Bois from A Streetcar Named Desire Modern: Bree Van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives Randy in My Name is Earl Karen Walker in Will and Grace
  7. I saw this film when I was young called Day Dreams, or something like that, it was fantastic and so funny, so if you havn't seen it look out for it!!!
  8. I read somewhere that one quite famous actress started out in Laurel and Hardy films. Can anyone help, cos it's been driving me crazy trying to think who she was!
  9. Sorry that I didn't reply to this earlier but when it was posted my TCM wouldn't ley me post anything, there was some error or something, my dad sorted it earlier today and then I was on holidays! So, The Philadelphia Story is one of my favourite films and even though I quite like High Society, it failed to capture what made the first film so great! And that was the rudness of Tracy, Grace Kelly played her far too nice!!! Plus, as said, there wasn't the right chemistry! And the origanal is hilarious!
  10. If I was to pick just one, which I'll have to cos I don't have much time, it would be Marilyn Monroe! Very, very pretty!!
