The last post on this topic was in 2003 and now it is August 2, 2006 but here goes. I don't think it is Ann Sheridan and I wish Richard Lax, who did the commentary on the DVD, would correct himself on this issue. He says "Take a closer look". I took a closer look and it isn't Ann Sheridan. On the same DVD they have a still of Ann Sheridan in costume with a flower in her hair. This is supposed to verify that it is Ann in the street scene. Only trouble is that the girl in the street scene is wearing a different costume, has no flower in her hair and is a different girl. I think John Huston was pulling his leg when he told Richard Lax that it was Ann Sheridan. Lax also spreads around like he is quoting scripture that the cast of The Maltese Falcon appears in the bar room scene of In This Our Life. Walter Huston is behind the bar all right but somebody else made up the rest of the story. I think I find this so annoying because this is an example of how easy it is to take someone's word for something without bothering to examine it ourselves.
