I would also like to say that while "The Godfather" (1972) is a fine film, I think Puzo's book is much deeper and does indeed have many themes and values it expounds upon. Well I gave it a try and there were a few scenes where I felt he was being needlessly vulgar...

Having never really read the book... I was still blown away by the movie first time I watched it... I've always loved Broderick Crawford since A Little Romance, one of the nicest movies about young people in love!

also I am curious is there a TCM HD channel if so then digitally recording some of the OOP movies may be quite attractive option. Nope. No HD yet for TCM, but soon hopefully. But I doubt people will be recording DVDs in HD of movies if they are available on pre-recorded DVDs. I believe it would be more expensive to record than to buy pre-recorded, unless prices drop drastically in the near future.
