This is so much harder to watch than SuperSize Me. With that one you never had to go behind the counter of a McDonalds. Here you get to see the meat-processing plants, the slaughterhouse, everything that goes on behind the scenes.

Thank you tcmprogrammer

And I wouldn't want to argue with you, either, so I'll just say this much -- I don't need to be lectured in politics and I certainly know what the criminal conviction means as far as the Bush administration is concerned.
And I also believe the American people are smart enough to make up their own minds about the outcome of the investigation.

Ah. That looks like a good one

Wow Peter Sarsgaard is 36
-
That would be yummy

Well if you get the Criterion I hope you'll enjoy, it sure has a lot of great extras.

If the music overwhelms the dialogue, you might want to try turning on the closed captions... it sometimes helps.

That's a gorgeous still, mongo.
Almost wish TCM could use some of those old-fashioned movie stills and use them to make wallpapers & screensavers!

I think just about anything would be better than an administration which has saddled the nation with billions of dollars in debt, sent thousands of Americans to their deaths, engaged the nation in war under false pretenses, and engaged in some dirty tactics that are very questionably ethically, the results of which can be seen with today's conviction in the "Scooter" Libby trial.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.

It would indeed be wonderful if Americans could just wean themselves away from fast food, and maybe go back to the more old-fashioned type of diner like you mentiond.

You mean the 1981 Shock Treatment? The sequel to RHPS?

Nothing like a cup of earl gray and a nice Powell & Pressburger

Everyone who isn't afraid of the truth and just wants a no-holds-barred look at how America's fast food industry works should definitely check this movie out, it's new on DVD this week.
A warning - if you watch this movie, you may see things that will make you sick. That might make you never want to eat a hamburger -- or anything for that matter -- in any fast food establishment.
Needless to say the fast food chain portrayed in the movie is 100% fictional, but it won't be hard to figure out which real-life chain it is loosely based on!

They show it every once in a while, check the "Shorts" forum and they may have the details for the next showing.

-
Hopefully they will run it again, when it comes to Americana this one seemed to me to be right up there with that short about Betsy Ross and the American flag.

-
And a little disagreement over the production of a TV show is worth getting personal with someone because..... ?
Oh that's right, it isn't worth it.
-
Maybe someone else would have produced the show if Gene Roddenberry hadn't happened to get lucky with Desilu? In any even it would be Gene Roddenberry we should be honoring for having had the vision that, thanks to the help of other people, could eventually make its way to TV.

Partying for the night with Frank Sinatra!
Now that sounds like wicked fun! Can Peter Lawford come along?

-
A cup of coffee can be relevant, too!

-
Well it's a very unusual portrayal of someone using extreme means to do what's right for the American people... whether the ends justify the means is of course left to one's interpretation!

-
I do want to see it again, maybe wait a little while so it seems fresh again, but definitely there are very many moments of great chemistry here and JG and GK made so few movies together!
