Well look at the bright side, you can now enjoy the much superior Blake Edwards originals.

-
If there was at least a shade of nuance to your comments about movies that didn't live up to your expectations then at least it would seem like you tried to keep all the qualities of a movie in mind.
-
Ah I take it you mean the one with Steve Martin trying to step into Peter Sellers' shoes?

-
Well I would try not to let it become too much of an issue, as long as everyone has fun during family get-togethers.
-
I meant it in reply to Dewey's suggestion that someone was galloping to post 50,000 entries before April 1st which might be his/hers birthday and then seek a prize - a real fool perhaps, certainly a pathetic one!!!
Well Larry, I think you know that nobody really pays much attention to post numbers (at least I don't think most do).
The only fool I can think of is someone who'd see others participating and enjoying sharing their love for classic cinema and then throwing a hissyfit because of it.

That's a wonderful way of putting it Mike, under the right circumstances it can be a pleasant surprise. Let's face it Corman was no Selznick but a lot of the time he could do a lot on a very low budget and keep some viewers entertained... no harm done!

-
What movie(s) did you hear that in?
-
I would have preferred to do without any extras if they could at least have done a decent job of transfering The Gang's All Here and not ruining the beautiful colors.

Well I think that in light of his recent performances away from the movie camera, a lot of people are thinking of Tom Cruise it quite different terms than simply limiting one's judgement to his performances. And this is one of the few cases where I think that, yes, perhaps off-camera behavior really should set off some alarm bells. And all the more so now that he wants to control his own studio.

I watched this the other day. It was good but I kept wishing I had the right kind of 3-D glasses to watch it properly. The ones I had from a theatrical showing of House of Wax and other 3-D movies didn't work.

So nobody knows if the 1944 Brazil has ever played on TCM?
-
Ah then it was a listing error... ?

Well we can still hope they'll smarten up and open up their vault!
-
I really should read more about him, sounds like an intriguing fella. :0
-
Well I'd be happy to just see it out, and hopefully not tied to some silly date on the calendar

-
Yeah but still I think a lot of people find the part about the Scientology and stuff a little... offputting, perhaps?
-
A great musical? No. That's why I thought the NYT review was quite enthusiastic, all things considered.
-
That was a funny one, alright!

-
I shake my head sometimes at the turns so many of these threads seem to take these days.
Care to elaborate?
-
You're very welcome, I hope they do something!

-
Ah, an excellent point Bartlett!

The prospect of the ghost of Lon Chaney coming back to haunt those who mock April Fool's Day is indeed delightful!

-
Well I don't know why they'd think the movie should be accompanied by patriotic music!

-
Slightly disappointing that the DVD doesn't include any extras except a theatrical trailer.

Maybe because he didn't want to live anymore?
