  1. Well I'm going to revise my earlier statement (and also disagree with everyone else) but I think the ideal version of Love Affair would have starred Irene Dunne *and* Cary Grant...
  2. That was lovely, I never watched a Merle Oberon movie I didn't like!
  3. A lot of Cesar Romero movies are from Fox, so they're more likely to turn up on FMC. As a matter of fact, they just had a day celebrating CR last Saturday and showed 7 or 8 of his movies during the morning/afternoon.
  4. Anne, with all due respect, at least I've tried to keep my posts on-topic. What you're posting now doesn't have anything to do with critics, or anything even remotely related. If you dislike someone's opinions simply because they're contrary to your own, you always have the option to simply ignore them.
  5. LOL Danny that's a great link, thanks for sharing!
  6. Um, well let's see. Since your post is addressed to me directly, it pretty much means you expect a reply from me, right? So if you address your posts to me, you are encouraging a reply from me. On the other hand, if you had sent me a PM, then you wouldn't be in the incongruous position of saying I shouldn't reply and at the same time asking for a reply to a post that you address directly to me. So which is it? You want me to post another reply in this thread, since you're addressing your post to me directly? Or you think this thread should be limited to posts that have to do with movie critics?
  7. I have the new Maltese Falcon special edition DVD, I'll check it out. Tnx for the suggestion!
  8. I suppose it could be in the $60 range... but that would be a bargain next to the old 8-VHS set, which can go for $300 or more on eBay. And the transfer on those tapes is pretty rudimentary.
  9. It's been a while since I watched any of those movies... I'll keep that in mind next time I see any of them...
  10. I've been dying to watch the original again since I watched last year's remake...
  11. Then maybe I would like Susan Hayward or the movie Gigi!!! Ah, but the real question is, would you have liked Susan Hayward in Gigi?
  12. The link to Lazy Afternoon was wonderful! I liked that one too!
  13. Ah, Santa Maria! Well I don't know, I never thought JOLT cola did anything except help keep you awake!
  14. Good ol' fashioned coffee was good enough for me in my college days. Either that or some Jolt cola!
  15. Um let's see... oh yeah here's some other ones -- ROFL - rolling on the floor laughing (doh!) AFAIK - as far as I know IIRC - if I remember correctly.
  16. Well, when it comes to "Gigi" and all other Cinemascope movies from the 50's and 60's, I really think they won't really look that great until they're on a HD format.
  17. Yes, I think perhaps you'd like the book better!
