This is the number one reason why I hold classic films so dear. Having grown up in the 50's and 60's, I remember what it was like when one of the most important things in life was trying to decide what flavor ice cream to get from the Good Humor man that night. ( always a toss up between shredded coconut or toasted almond)

TCM represents an escape BACK to that time. In a previous posting, I think it was Anne who described it much more eloquently then I. Just wanted to add my 2 cents to the mix.

Have you said and I missed it?>>

The countdown ends in 12 days, 5 hours, and 15 minutes...but I'm not really counting. 8^D

This promo that everyone is talking about has piqued my interest. Can't wait to view it so that I can form my own opinion.

Throw in a soda pop and you've got a deal!

  3. Thank you, Sam for taking the time to ease my fears. After watching the downfall of AMC, its only natural that TCM devotees would be fearful of the same occurrence. Jeepers, officially I don't even have this channel yet and I was off and running with all sorts of horrors in my head. You've restored my glee and childish delight at the thought of FINALLY being able to watch the classic films that I love and cherish so much.

    See ya at the movies!

  4. After reading this thread, I hope that what some of you are saying about TCM slowly becoming AMC is not true.

After seven and a half years of calling, writing, and emailing, my cable company is finally adding Turner Classic Movies to their channel lineup at the end of this month. How sad, if down the road, this long wait turns out to be for nothing.
