  1. Sugarpuss, the band Mudhoney actually did pull their name from the Russ Meyer film, even though nobody in the band ever saw the movie, so you were correct in your assumption!

Grunge bands were once indeed a huge part of life for me but I'm not so much into its history as I am the culture and atmosphere it brought.

...and yes the movie "Singles" and "Reality Bites" are instant classics to me!

  2. I have it a few days to see if anyone had any insight but it looks like I joined the topic in the middle of a "My Generation vs. Your Generation" debate.

Just to retoss my question out there, does anyone know how the movies were selected? Was Rob given a list of movies to pick from, or was he given a blank schedule and told to fill it in?

I am just curious as to his reasons for picking some films over others, most notably Dementia 13, which was initially in the promotional material of him getting the opportunity to do the TCM Underground program, but seems to have been cut when scheduling.

    Thanks.

  3. I'm a newly registered user to the forum, but a VERY long time viewer of this great station...

Anyway, I have noticed one thing about the scheduled movies...

    What happened to Dementia 13??

It's the one film that upon the initial promotion of Rob Zombie getting his own "show" on TMC that I definitely wanted to watch... Yet I find that it was somehow eliminated from the schedule?

Which spawns another question, did Rob Zombie have control over the movies or was he given a list and instructions to "pick from this"?

Having been a fan of his work dating back to about the same time sugarpuss had mentioned, I am pretty excited over his addition to the TMC lineup and for the films he has chosen to present as I have not seen a couple of them (especially not Dementia 13!).

Also as for all you people who started this 6 page thread saying that you don't know who Rob Zombie is and then on the last page saying that he isn't even worth talking about when you know nothing about this person... There's not harm in giving this broadcast a chance. That's just a harsh thing to say.

Anyway, I have to get back to my picket fence dreams now... (:

    See you around.
