Bonus Trivia: What actor played the role of Jefferson Smith and it what film?
-
Sorry. I repeated this question which I posted only a few weeks ago. Mongo

GWTW, actor Roger Moore was speaking from experience when he made that statement to Joan Collins. Prior to his fame as James Bond he appeared in 4 TV series including "Ivanhoe" in 1958, "The Alaskans" in 1959, "Maverick" in 1960 and in his most successful series "The Saint" as Simon Templar from 1962 to 1969. He played a modern day Robin Hook who steals from rich criminals, usually locks them up, and keeps the loot for himself. He also had a short lived TV series "The Persuaders" in 1971 and "The Dream Team" in 1999. Thanks for your support. ********************************************************* ML, I'm working on the Laurel & Hardy info that you requested. Mongo Mongo

As a fan of Abbott & Costello for many years I have never heard or read anything that was related to a mob hit concerning the child. The youngster was active and strong for his age and broke out of the playpen and unfortunately drowned in the pool which was tragic. Mongo

I am in Florida and I noticed the same problems here with the audio in "Sons of the Desert". I also noticed it in "The Devil's Brother" this afternoon. Mongo

Sabrina, the only info I can come up with is the "Guys and Dolls" original cast recording from the Broadway show (1950) on a CD. It looks like the movie CD is not out yet although it should be. Did you snoop around on Ebay since you never know what your gonna find there? I'll keep my eyes peeled for any future info. Mongo

Larry, thanks much for the info regarding Martha Raye, whom I always enjoyed and suspected was warm and cozy to be around (some of the time). I also think that Mary Boland would have gave the mother role a little more zing in "Meet Me in St. Louis" although Mary Astor was good. Please don't hesitate to go on and on with your fabulous stories as we here on the boards are enjoying them so much. Your a breath of fresh air. Part II of this thread should be "ASK LARRY"...indeed. Mongo

Larry, I would imagine that Martha Raye was a hoot when you escorted her in the 1960s. Was she as much fun as she appeared to be on TV? I guess you were somewhat dismayed at what happened to her near the end of her life considering the split with her daughter, the unusual marriage and her illness. Mongo

The handsome Errol Flynn served his purpose in Hollywood as the dashing hero starring in all those fabulous swashbucklers as mentioned below. The guy lived fast, had fun, died young and left a beautiful memory. Mongo
-
Gibson, there is no blood relationship at all between Mel and Jose. However they do have a Latino connection since Jose is Puerto Rican and Mel's dad is Cuban. Mongo
-
Oh...It's actually spelled "Jeopardy".
-
You got the title of movie right, hillspan. The movie starred Barbara Stanwyck, Barry Sullivan, Ralph Meeker and was released in 1953. Mongo

Shaina, I believe I saw the stone in a magazine, most likely Classic Images, I think. When I get the chance I'll go through some stuff again and see if I can locate it. Wish me luck. Mongo
