That's your list leo????? TWO silent films!!!! Your complaining about just TWO silent films!!!! You've got to be kidding. I want to SEE a LIST! Wheres the LIST of ALL these silent films that are making your life so miserable? Are you on the level or is this a Candid Camera stunt or something? All I know is that each month I can count 6 or 7 silent films that are shown on TCM opposed to over 300 talkies. Are you sure the SOUND is working on your TV set? Mongo

Yes...I also would like to see a list of all those silent films that are supposedly repeated all the time. I could hardly wait. Mongo

Gee leo you didn't even have the decency to acknowledge the informative response by the tcmprogrammer or compliment stoneyburke on his well composed post (and may I add, something you can learn from). By the way who is stonebrook? Mongo

It's too bad that Col.Parker didn't permit Presley to star opposite Barbra Streisand in "A Star Is Born" since I believe he would have been ideal in the role. As far as "Stay Away Joe" I believe Presley was supposed to be an Indian, hence the makeup...duhhh. Mongo

"I Confess"?

It never seems to fail. Everytime a negative appears on the boards ol' gloom and doom leo comes out of the woodwork and spews his negative thoughts. Perhaps we should "let him go". Mongo

By all means the versatile Mickey Rooney is A-number-one in my book. Entertaining sice he was a wee kid he has done it all in all aspects of show business winning many awards for his efforts. It is just amazing that little Mr. Dynamite is still at it into his 80's. We love ya Mickey! Mongo

"The Manchurian Candidate"?

moira, how right you are. Kudos also to the wonderful "Crime Wave" series of films played all this week, commercial free, uncut and uninterrupted. Just swell. Delicious black and white gems. I also got a peek at the "August Under the Stars" movies with a great movie star featured every day. I'm especially looking forward to my gal Barbara Stanwyck all day long. Good stuff from TCM indeed. Mongo

Oh..."Lost in Yonkers" was not your typical Neil Simon movie. My heart went out to the young lady in the story since the old biddy was a real b-tch. However the two kids were funny. Mongo
-
On the top of my Neil Simon list is the movie "The Sunshine Boys". Burns and Matthau together just crack me up. Whenever I'm down and need a pick-me-up into the VCR the movie goes. Just hilarious! Also like "The Goodbye Girl", "Only When I Laugh" and "The Odd Couple". All feel good movies. Mongo

"Our Vines Have Tender Grapes"?

I had a pleasant surprise today when I watched the underrated actor Edward G. Robinson in "Brother Orchid" (1940) about a gangster posing as a monastery monk. With his priceless lingo and gestures and along with the wonderful Ann Sothern it was a treat. It's hard to believe that Robinson was NEVER nominated for an Oscar. When the time finally came for the Academy to present him with a special award it was too late. Although he was aware he was to get the award he passed away before the big night rolled around. His wife accepted it for him. A shame indeed. Mongo

No doubt that ol' Leo was a pip ( a drunkin' one at that). I have Leo Jr.s book and he reveals his dads life warts and all. It was no merry ride to say the least. Dad was a character alright however he managed to get some of the most beautiful gals in Tinseltown. I for one coming from Brooklyn could verify that his accent was duh best dere was. Mongo -
