  1. My favorite cameo is Hitch boarding a train with a double-bass In "Strangers on a Train". Moviejoe he was walking the poodles coming out of the pet shop in "The Birds". Mongo
  2. To name a few of the current directors I would say Steven Soderberge ("Erin Brockovich) who has a couple of films currently in production. Also Frank Darabont who proved himself with "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile". Mongo
  3. For sure I will be watching the delightful "Easter Parade" tonight on TCM. Mongo
  4. leo for your information TCM showed films all day today from the 1930s including "Over the Wall" (1935). Tonight through tomorrow night they are showing films from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Enjoy. Mongo
  5. The line most likely would not have been that outstanding if she had said "harness my horses".
  6. I'll be watching to make sure that the dog don't steal the ham off the table like he did last Easter. Mongo
  7. Glad you remembered Richard Conte moira. He had a syle all his own with his dark brooding manner. Also good in "Cry of the City", "Thieves' Highway", "The Fighter", "The Brothers Rico" and "Ocean's Eleven" (the original of course). Mongo
  8. Whatever he was he was most of all a great showman. Can't blame him for getting hot under the collar when he had the burden on his shoulders of getting a motion picture finished on time and under budget (just like any other director in those days). Also under the circumstances with his wife you couldn't blame him for getting a little nooky on the side. Afterall when a man takes weeks to part the Red Sea he needs some release from the tension. I was miffed as to why his son-in-law Anthony Quinn wasn't included in the documentary. DeMille produced the remake of "The Buccaneer" and Quinn directed it. Quinn also had much respect for his father-in-law as he stated in an interview with Robert Osborne. All in all it was an entertaining two hours and made me hunger for the movie "Samson and Delilah" with Victor Mature and the gorgeous Hedy Lamarr. Mongo
  9. It can be anything your little heart desires antar. As a matter of fact I overlooked my favorite animated animal character Thumper from the movie "Bambi". Mongo
  10. Just finished watching the spectaular documentary "MGM: When the Lion Roars" on TCM. To say the least it enthralling all about the rise and fall of, perhaps, the most legendary movie studio in Hollywood. Patrick Stewart narrated the whole show with gusto taking us through decades of stars and film clips of some of the grandest movies ever made with commentary by some of the stars themselves. How sad it was to see it all end with those fabulous sets getting demolished one by one and all those wonderful artifacts being auctioned off. Bless actress Debbie Reynolds who cared so much and tried to rescue it all but to no avail. Like she said "It's too late now". Mongo
  11. ally the name of the song that is played during TCMs posthumous tribute is "I Will Remember You" sung by Sarah McLachlan. It's available on one of her CDs. Mongo
  12. Please connect Al St. John to Peter Greenaway
  13. Darling Narita in "Pups" w/ Burt Reynolds Burt Reynolds in "Angel Baby" w/ Joan Blondell Joan Blondell in "Colleen" w/ Ward Bond Ward Bond in "Drums Along the Mohawk" w/ Edna May Oliver
  14. Just for fun: Connect Rin Tin Tin to Benji
  15. Musidora in "Les Vampires" w/ Jean Ayme Jean Ayme in "The Passion of Joan of Arc" w/ Maria Falconetti
  16. I gotta go with that BIG hunk-a-bear who guided and protected the baby bear in "The Bear". He was also in "The Edge" terrifying Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. He appeared at the Academy Awards in 1998 and was a pussycat. Sadly the big guy has since passed away. Mongo
  17. Wallace Reid in "The Birth of a Nation" w/ Bessie Love Bessie Love in "The Ritz" w/ Jack Weston Jack Weston in "Dirty Dancing" w/ Wayne Knight Wayne Knight in "Space Jam w/ Michael Jordan
  18. And whatever you do don't ever give away thr ending of "The Titanic"!
  19. No doubt "The Sign of the Cross" is Demille at his most Decadent. Charles Laughton is pure effeminate evil as Nero stealing all his scenes from everyone else while sporting that big fake nose. Claudette Colbert was both lovely and evil as Poppaea who lusts after Marcus (Fredic March in a bad performance). Ironically Colbert disliked March as did Veronica Lake. Also history tells us that Nero eventually murdered his wife Poppaea by stomping her to death. By the way the young lad Stephan who feared going to the lions at the finale was played by Tommy Conlon who is still with us. He will be 87 in June. Indeed the scenes in the arena were outrageous to say the least. Mongo
