Also try "Houdini" (although not totally factual) its a good flick with then-wife Janet Leigh, "The Boston Strangler", "The Rat Race" quite good with Debbie Reynolds, "Trapeze" with Burt Lancaster, "Sweet Smell of Success" excellent performance, "The Defiant Ones" (I mentioned in prior Post), "The Great Imposter", "The Outsider", "Sex and the Single Girl" and "Lepke". I think you'll be surprised. Mongo

In honor of Jan Sterling who passed away on the 26th of March, here is one line from her film "Ace in the Hole" directed by Billy Wilder that is a hoot. Jan Sterling as Lorraine telling Kirk Douglas as Tatum: "I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons". Also Sterling to Douglas: "I've met some hard-boiled eggs, but you - you're twenty minutes!". Good stuff. Mongo

The 10th Anniversary date is April 14th. at which time TCM will treat us to a day of "Private Screenings" hosted by Robert Osborne. We wll get to see some of our old favorites getting interviewed again and I hope they repeat the one with Betty Hutton. And to top it all off a showing of the glorious "Gone With the Wind" as only TCM can present it, without commercials and uncut. Great stuff. HAPPY 10th ANNVERSARY TCM! Mongo

Good observation slappy. If I had to choose between the two it would be Although difficult. Definitely a close call. Although all those Oscar nominations could prove that Tracy was the better actor (twice a winner). Mongo

I recall Jerry Colonna in some films and with Bob Hope. He had a big vocal range and could hold a note for a long time (sounding like an Irish tenor). Very funny guy with prominent eyes and expressions. Mongo

I think we have to consider wheather TCM has at least some 20 odd films available in their library of when a star of the month is featured. I doubt that they have much on Thelma Ritter, Alan Ladd, Gene Tierney, Clifton Webb, Maureen O'Hara, Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Bob Hope, Edmund Gwenn, Betty Hutton, Richard Widmark, Susan Hayward etc. etc. If TCM can obtain more films from 20th. Century-Fox and Paramount we could have a field day. Mongo
