  5. Actually when I was a youngster I learned how to kiss from watching movies. In those days though It was hard to detect if they opened their mouth a little or not. Needless to say it was embarrassing when I tried my first few kisses because I was shut up like a clam. In the long run I got the idea and all turned out well. In today's movies they eat each others lips off. Mongo
  6. Hmmmmm is that Paul Newman in "The Sting"?
  7. For Bette Davis a prune juice spritz since in most of her films she appears to be constipated with those facial expressions especially in "Now, Voyager". I love her though. Mongo
  8. After watching "Call Her Savage" again on the Fox Movie Channel with Clara Bow I would be tempted to invite her to dinner. With the both of us coming from Brooklyn I believe we would have a lot in common and her accent just slays me. I bet she wouldn't mind a few Nathan's hotdogs and a beer. Indeed she was the "It" girl. Mongo
  9. I think the film "Mildred Pierce" is a superior soap opera. A tantalizing film-noir with some outstanding performances, beautifully filmed and mounted. It is a big favorite on TCM. Mongo
  10. moira it looks like another film that I did not get to see. I don't recall the clues about the hanging or the burning ship with the heiress aboard. Mongo
  11. Did anyone mention Betty Hutton? She held her own with Fred Astaire in "Let's Dance" which is seldom shown since I believe it is a Paramount film. Mongo
  12. msladyrogan? That was to funny antar. I'm still laughing.

  15. msladysoul I was one of the first to respond when you started this thread bashing beautiful actress Hedy Lamarr and I mentioned that you were going to hit a big nerve with what you said and now I see I was right. And you don't have the right to tell us what not to read on the boards. We post our thoughts about the movies and the stars to be read and to get feedback. That's what forums are all about. And thats what we have been doing here long before you came along. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. And for your information I've seen films with both Nina Mae McKinney and Dorothy Dandridge and as far as beauty goes McKinney doesn't hold a candle to Dandridge. I just watched a documentary about Dandridge and she was the ultimate black beauty although a troubled woman. Also when I said that Lamarr was beautiful you stated that she was dead and do I still think she is beautiful which was tasteless. Yet you continue to mention McKinney's beauty but she is also dead. So what the hell are you talking about? I suggest you cheer up and get on with the business at hand here on these boards. It could be fun. Mongo
  16. Since we recently made favorite choices between Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Havilland lets give the gents a go at it. Who is your favorite between Cary Grant and James Stewart and why? Mongo
  17. I'll opt for "The Letter", "The Little Foxex" and "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?". Mongo
  18. moira you nailed it already. Congratulations! It's your turn.
  19. Please connect Francis X. Bushman to James Caviezel
  20. Mary Pickford in "Secrets" w/ Virginia Grey Virginia Grey in "Idiot's Delight" w/ Burgess Meredith Burgess Meredith in "King Lear" w/ Julie Delpy
  21. OK lets get this gig going. Clue # 1 NYC housing project
  22. msladysoul hold it! Don't be so hot to trot. If you READ my post I wrote Lamarr WAS one of the most beautiful women in the world. And I am not talking about a dead woman (may she rest in peace). And I did write that I RESPECT your preferences. Open your eyes and don't always be so quick to draw blood. And for your information I have seen hundreds perhaps thousands of beautiful women in my lifetime and I still believe that Hedy Lamarr outshines them all. By the way I'm glad that I didn't get the chance to see you. Mongo
  23. msladysoul if it was your intent to hit a big nerve with your Hedy Lamarr post and the things you said about her...you have succeeded. I for one happen to think that Lamarr was one of the most beautiful women in the world. However I do respect your preferences since beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Mongo
